It'll be good for him to see the atmosphere in the Knapp on Saturday. As long as we don't s*** the bed, it should get loud in a hurry.

Oops!

... yeah, well ... he's not from Chicago, '67. I don't know ...

I take it Brunson must be from Highland Park or Kenilworth?

HA!
By Mc Bulldog - 7/2/2020

I don't care if Puke or Michgan offers, as long as his Dad is the Coach at DU, he is going to be a Bulldog.

Hopefully, Tucker sees how much his Dad needs him.
By Dawg_tired - 7/2/2020

Ask yourself why he's not getting offers.  He's certainly good enough to get offers.

Tucker reminds me of Ron Baker at Wichita State a few years ago. Deadly 3 point shooter plays under control.

No he reminds me of Bucky Cox

That line never gets old.  You know who else reminds me of Bucky Cox?  Bucky Cox.  Difficult to disagree.

Not me, he looks like a shorter Baloncesto Estrella to my eyes.

Well I can't argue with that.

You guys continue to forget that Bucky was a solid 7-2 outside shooter who could board.
By OldDogII - 3/2/2020

Yes, it was loud alright - with the UNI chant!  😠.
I heard announcers at the game and on the TV sports that night talk about the “first sellout in 10 years” or whatever.  Ha!  That was only because of all the UNI fans who were there.  That only added to the embarrassing display on the court.
By OldDogII - 3/2/2020

I was thinking the same thing. He saw firsthand how we need a difference maker like him to boost the program forward. Like Doug McDermott did for his Dad at Creighton .
By OldDogII - 3/13/2020

Yes, Tucker, you have seen what Dad can do. Starting with very little we finished at the top of the conference last year. This year with less talent we still won 20 games and won the “big game” with top seeded UNI in the tournament. So you know Dad can coach, that we have talent returning next year and that the future is bright.
So come to Drake - continue and build on this success to “make Drake great again!”

Here we go Bulldogs, here we go....
By OldDogII - 2/28/2020

Anyone heard when Tucker might make a decision?

I'll stick with Baker. Always seems to know where to go for the open shot. Understands where the ball is going on defense to be in good defensive position or go for the steal.

Some really nice fade-aways. Seriously have not seen that in a high school kid since Brunson.
Does anyone know how fast/quick he is?
By dog67 - 2/16/2020

Does that mean that you know how fast the guys from Chicago are??????

No one lives in Kenilworth...it's a figment of everyone's imagination.
By dog67 - 7/2/2020

If a kid has unrealistic visions of grandeur, combined with some third party, whether a parent or greedy advisor with the same outlandish vision of a totally unobtainable NBA  career, the kid will never end up at a  school like Drake.
If the kid and those around him are truthful with themselves, then a school like Drake is always a possibility.

AJ is tall, 6'4.  However, I think Tucker is already taller, 6'5/6'6.  Man, just a junior!!  Excellent size and length, high basketball IQ, he's going to get offers from top programs.  If he goes any place else, I just hope he doesn't make it Creighton.

... or UNI?
By SOSublime - 6/3/2020

I like our chances at the moment. I know there's a chance he goes to Creighton but in the article he mentioned he'll probably make his decision after visiting Drake and Creighton. Even if he gets offers from bigger schools, I still like our chances. I'm probably just reading into it what I want but this article made me feel even better about our chances. Thanks for posting, Lime.
By Lime - 6/2/2020

He’s heard from Missouri, UCF, Lehigh, and Iowa.

That was a great game.  There is some talent on that court.  Yes, Tucker can shoot, drive, handle the ball and pass. However, his defense and hustle is something!

Uhm, I'm thinking Craig Ehlo.  He was a 6'6 shooter out of Washington State.  Best known for guarding Michael Jordan on "the shot" when he was with Cleveland.  He actually defended him well.  Jordan was just Jordan.  Craig Ehlo played 14 seasons for 4 NBA teams... 7,492 points, 2,456 assists and 3,139 rebounds.

99% sure Tucker wins the opening tip against his Waukee teamate Payton Sandfort. That is who he is guarding as well.

Had 36 points in a losing effort to Ankeny Centennial tonight.

I don't see why Mizzou would excite someone, other than proving to yourself that you can get Power 5 offers on your own, and not just from your dad's friend and old boss.

But he's clearly a Power 5 level player. He should know that.

By SDVickery - 7/1/2020

According to Bain's recruiting article with the register today it sounds like the "update" is the main schools in contact with Tucker the most are Drake and Creighton (no surprises there) and then Missouri... https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/high-school/recruiting/2020/07/01/iowa-recruiting-mailbag-grading-iowa-state-transfer-haul-new-iowa-basketball-targets-alex-padilla/5352326002/

Quote from the article: "Drake and Creighton offered long ago and have been considered the front-runners, but DeVries definitely has mutual interest with Cuonzo Martin and Missouri, which has not yet offered. DeVries' plan is to still (hopefully) wait until he can take visits in the fall before announcing a decision.".

I like Drake's chances due to the obvious connection but we'll see if that interest from Missouri turns into an offer in the next few months...

Yea... You'd think if he wants to play for his Dad he'd jump in the 2021 class then help with recruiting other members of the class asap... Although part of the fun of going through the recruiting process in high school is being able to see how many offers and visits you can get/take... Hard to blame someone for wanting to experience all of that... Interesting to think about (probably overthinking) with not much else going on in the sports world... I'm still optimistic in Drake's chances as long as those "Power 5's", like a Missouri, don't officially offer... Time will tell...

I know it probably doesn't mean much, but interesting to see that the "Crystal Ball" prediction on the site is Drake. Looks like this prediction was made by some Hawkeye reporter back in March.

I'm not worried about Mizzou. Martin is on the hot seat down there and Creighton is a much better program and team right now.

Per Matthew Bain’s on-line article today, DeVries is “wide open” as far as his recruitment goes.

C’mon, Tucker; be a Bulldog

I heard a rumor that Drake's head coach has a thing for this kid's mom :hehe:
By DUBulldog - 2/28/2020

Probably next year, or maybe this fall.

He can’t sign a letter-of-intent anywhere until November of this year, so there’s no rush.
