In the sectional game against Navigato's team, Griffin scored 21 points (12 in the first quarter) and had 7 rebounds. Looks like West Aurora should be a force next year. I think they only have one senior stsrter. Griffin should lead the way. I believe he is 6'5".

6'3" guard from Aurora, IL linkvideo Short video but I like that dunk, we could use some athleticism like that. The school they're playing in the video (Naperville Central) is the high school I went to, not sure if they've been any good lately.

Roy Schmidt is a long-time basketball recruiting guy from Illinois....he says Griffin is visiting Drake on Saturday (6/14). linkHis twitter account is protected, so unless you follow him, you won't be able to read that link. Now listed as 6'6" link

Hard to tell from a mixtape, but he looks like a player that would add a lot to the Bulldogs.

By my count, that's 4 out of the last 5 2015 prospects that were offered that committed elsewhere. Will this continue? If so, what's the next move?
1) Do you go the junior college route and bring in players about to be sophomores in 2015 to fill the schlorships?
2) Do you offer lesser quality players to fill the schlorships?
3) Do you forego filling the available 2015 schlorships and bring in that many more for 2016?
Why is this happening?
1) Because of the quality of the incoming freshmen, and recruits feel they may not get a lot of playing time?
2) Because of the two transfers from the Big 10 coming in; one with three years of eligibility left, thus recruits feeling that they may not get enough playing time?
3) Recruits did not like our recruiting procedures? ( Yes, that's possible ).
Should 4 out of 5 rejections thus far be cause for concern?
What do you think of all this?

I think nothing of it and it may bee that we were not that interested in those players or they just weren't going to be able cut it at Drake. All of these players have numerous offers so everytime one of them signs somewhere that means that he has "rejected" numerous other schools offers. The guys listed on here may be of much less interest to the staff than players we have never even seen mentioned on here.

Schools....Drake included.....often put out dozens of "offers". In a typical year, most schools sign 3-5 players out of 30+ offers.
Nothing to be concerned about in the least. I guarantee you that Drake has lots of offers out there that we don't know about. I have complete faith that the staff will bring in another very good class.
As for why I put the word offers in quotes earlier....all offers are not created equal. Just because a school offers a player, that doesn't guarantee they'd actually take him.....depends how high the player is on the school's list.
