I think the last few weeks he's really turned a corner. He's playing so much better. I think he needs another year to be honest, but if he continues to develop, I could see him in the NBA.

Needs to improve ball handling skills and has a ways to go in other areas.

I'm a hundred percent sure he'll get run in the G League. There will always be room for a 6'7" guy who can shoot. But, he is really quite slow and I don't think I can even count on one hand the times I've said to myself, "Nice defense, TD." Love him, he's miles-miles- better than he was last year and it seems like he's got that "Ball is life" mentality that can help overcome some natural deficiencies.

I think we get at least 1 more year from him, barring some crazy NIL offer he absolutely can’t refuse. That’s my biggest worry.
As other have said, there are too many facets of his game he still needs to polish to transfer to the NBA. Pure shooter, but I don’t think he could guard many wings in the league currently.

Forgot this thread exists, Tucker listed in the 2024 NBA mock draft by Jonathan Givony of ESPN.

It's strange that all the experts seem to think a lot more of Tucker's game than we do. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a great player, but I'm not sure he can guard anybody in the NBA right now.

Moving forward.....

Neither can Garza. Tucker wouldn't be playing in the NBA right away. He'd definitely be in the G League.

AJ Green is on a two way deal but has 25 appearances for a title contender. Matt Thomas from ISU is currently in Europe but has played in playoff games. The NBA is so spacing and shooting centric now that guys without great defensive reps can get spots.

Tucker's going to get good advice on whatever he does. My guess is he decides to test the waters to get feedback for improvement, but will ultimately come back. Especially if we can get some NIL $$ to him.

Especially if we can get some NIL $$ to him. If you asked me to project, I think he announces he is testing the waters and gets feedback to come back for one more year, which he does with a nice NIL deal, probably outside of the collective, with the company of a deep pocket booster. If he is healthy through next season and it hasn't totally fallen apart he's gone. The 24 draft is not lining up to be great.

After watching the last game, in my view he has to do a few things:
1. Move better off-ball - create own shots. 2. Try to increase first step quickness, right now, he has trouble with compentent defense with getting past the three point line. 3. Work on mental aspect of the game, it seems if he hits his first couple of shots, he has a good game, if not, he struggles. He's our lead guy, we can't have him no-show in big games. 4. Ignore what I say, becuase I don't know what I'm talking about.
I'm really glad to have him on the team, he's a great player, and we'd certainly not have the record we have without him. He draws the most attention which has freed up Penn a lot this year.

Right now, I view him as a classic "tweener" -- too slow to play the 3 and not big/strong enough to play the 4. Leaving now would be a big mistake in my opinion. He needs another year to develop his quickness off screens as well as his ball handling ability.

Needs to spend the off season spending some time with a speed/quickness guru. Such work would also improve his explosiveness.

Yeah - I think Tuck did a good job working on his physical stature this offseason. Now hes got to take the next step with his agility, ability to create a shot off the ball and get more mentally tough. As others have said, we can't have him disappearing for 10-15 minute spreads.
