Murray State picked up a commitment from Sam Murray, a 6'8" forward from Mississippi. 3-star recruit who had offers from several Big 12 and SEC schools. But, it looks like he missed most of this season with injury, so a lot of those schools might have backed off.

Recruits this off-season are already looking better than what they had been getting.

That’s pretty quick…don’t know if I should be saying “good for them” or “hope they didn’t rush it”
Now the real question is- how the hail do they field a reasonable team this late in the game. They’re basically relying on uncommitted guys from the portal and maybe an unsigned guy or two out of high school…probably a walk on or two.
I’ll be interested to see what they can string together at this stage.

I’m seeing that Evansville is expected to hire David Ragland, who is currently an assistant at Butler

He's had a Valley stop at Indiana State (when he was at Valpo as an assistant they were Horizon): "Ragland, who helped Utah State to a record of 74-24 over the three seasons prior to joining the Butler staff, arrived in Indianapolis with nearly two decades of experience, including previous assistant coaching stops at Valparaiso, Northern Kentucky, Bowling Green, Indiana State, and Frank Phillips College, as well as his time at Utah State. Ragland also spent two seasons as the head coach at Vincennes University."

Just hope Ragland can get a squad together. Although it’s nice to have a easier chance for a W, the better Evansville is at least in non-conference, the better for everyone. MVC needs our bottom teams to finish 12-whatever not 7-21 or something like that.

Or 0-20 in league play. Definitely not good for the league.

I see where it is reported that Belmont's Grayson Murphy and Nick Muszynski will both pursue professional careers and won't return to school next season to use their additional year of eligibility.
