The print on JY’s KU shirt read “More is Possible” In joe’s case shouldn’t it read “Less is Probable?”

I think he stays there and hopes to get a lot more playing time next year unless Self tells him he isn’t going to be a factor

+xI think he stays there and hopes to get a lot more playing time next year unless Self tells him he isn’t going to be a factor I agree with your comments. I am guessing a lot of kids would prefer sitting on the bench and being part of a perennial national champion contender, rather than playing full-time in a mid-major program with notoriety. Kids want to develop their game to be able to earn a living playing professionally somewhere in the world, and what better way to do that than playing on a team like KU. Look at the transfer portal; great mid-major players transfer to power programs, and older P5-6 players transfer to other P5-6 programs. I don't know if there are a lot of P5-6 players transferring to mid-majors, thought it does happen. At KU, if JY feels he will continue to develop his game and get more playing time next year, I would expect him to stay. If he does leave Kansas, it would be surprising to see him step back to mid-major program.

I don’t think he stays if told he’s not going to Play much. I’m sure he’s looking for more time on floor. Personally if it was me - I’d rather play at a good mid major than sit the bench at Kansas

Self will convince him he's going to play next year and he will stay and be a five minute per game guy. His only chance at a pro career is overseas and he would have probably been better off with stats at Drake than 2ppg at Kansas. Maybe Kansas won't do well in recruiting or have injuries and Yesufu will play sometime.

Joe’s not going to develop his game sitting on the bench. That dunk last year that made the NCAA tournament highlights was as a Bulldog, not sitting on the bench at Kansas. It depends on what he “enjoys more”, sitting on the bench of a perennial power like Kansas or scoring 20-30 points a game for a mid-major like Drake and helping them get into the tournament.

It doesn't matter what the name on the front of your jersey is if you spend the entire game on the bench. Joe played 0 minutes last night. He and I had the same amount of PT. If you think that helps him to "develop" more than playing 40 min a game in the NCAA tournament and scoring 20+ points for a mid-major then I don't know what to tell you. Ja Morant stayed at Murray St and is an MVP candidate. Dame Lillard stayed at Weber State and is a top 10 player in the NBA. I can only imagine how successful you think they would have been if they had transferred to Kansas.

If you can play they meaning the professional level will find you. You must be new to watching sports.

Exactly ! Somebody sold Joe some big dreams last year so now he gets to watch instead of playing and “developing his game.” Will he play next year? Maybe a little more. But I bet Bill Self is out there recruiting another point guard, just to have “more depth.”

We’ve done really well in the portal guys. We’ve won more than we’ve lost. Joe did what he thought was right for him. Let’s move on.

Don’t get on joe, get on whom ever his inner circle is. Those Bolingbrook coaches have all their D1 players transferring. Although they have a guard from SEMO Nana A, who is impressive. And the other is a pg due to a coaching change at ball st.
If a player doesn’t want to be at Drake, we need to move on to, although with joe and robbins this team would’ve been a bigger force the past 2 seasons.

The best thing about Joe is the lesson he teaches to other players on the team. The big time may call but you may not have the answer.
Moving forward.....
