They played without Berhow. Then WKU beat Memphis today so I think uni will be really good. Plus Born looked good. I’m not uni fan but am a Valley fan so looking for positives for conference. Bradley lost by one point to Xavier

Bradley lost by one point to Xavier I watched only a minute or so of the game, but the box score says they were 20-39 from three. That’s some good shooting for UNI, but normally a team would win with 20 made threes while shooting over 50%.

I saw about a 1/2 of each of the Pig Farmers first 3 games of the season this week. They played some decent competition and ran into a bit of a 2nd half buzz saw in Utah State yesterday. Jake can be a Richard and stubborn with his players. He will force a square peg in a round hole. It appeared he forced the team to the style of his liking as opposed to the player's strengths, I suppose that method sometimes pays off by mid season and sometimes it doesn't. It appears Jake is not a "player's coach", unless your name is Michael Born. HA! Maybe the extended playing time will pay off down the road for Born if he can stay healthy in that frail little frame. The Pig Farmers overall looked tired and beat yesterday, the body language did not portray a team of great chemistry by any stretch. Pig Farmers did no favors for the MVC, tattooing 3 massive L's on the leagues scoreboard. ... and feed 'em beans.

Illinois state beat Greenville tonight. 177-108 I think It’s kinda funny and kinda sad. This Greenville team is averaging about 100 points per game - and losing by an average of 60 pints per game. I think they have played 4 games I think Murray state also scored over 170 against them

+xAnd, Evansville lost again. Still winless under Lickliter. They are one of the worst looking teams I have ever seen. Giacolettis teams would beat them by 20.

+xIf aj green is done then drake can have a better chance of beating northern Iowa this year. Yeah, because if AJ Green isn't on the team then we might be able to crush them in the MVC tournament when we're an 8 seed... oh wait. But seriously, we might be an all around better team then we were last year and we're 3-0, they are 0-3. They have had a harder schedule so far but they aren't where they need to be right now, with or without AJ. I like our chances either way. Kimmons is out too, unfortunately for them.

To be honest todd lickliter is not a good candidate for the Evansville aces. I bet his team will be last place again. The way they play against Louisville was terrible. I bet they have no fan base

I bet they have no fan base "I bet they have no fan base" Unless I'm mistaken I didn't see a single post on their forum last year, so yeah, prob not much for a fan base. Also, I thought there forum got taken down last year but when I checked for it the other day I found it, just didn't have any posts on it.

It might not be the end of the world for UNI if Green has to sit. Jacobson built their program on grind it out (grabbing and flopping) defense and a slothlike pace of play. They used to win games 53-47. Now they lose games 87-93. I remember seeing some stat last year or the year before that they lost more when Green scored over a certain number. I may be wrong but it wouldn't surprise me at all if he sits and they proceed to find success.

Yeah he's not a great distributer and he turns it over a lot, but he's real good at creating his own shot.

A little off-topic, but former Valley arena Freedom Hall has D-I basketball again: Bellarmine is using it this season. State rules are limiting basketball attendance to 15 percent of capacity, so a big building is preferred to Bellarmine's smallish gym. Just so happens that the Commonwealth (fair board) owns Freedom Hall, and was willing to make it available. edit - I see that they reportedly signed a "multi-year" deal with the company managing Freedom Hall.
