Really a great interview by Shanafelt. Devin can potentially fit a few positions on the field. He had the perfect attitude out of high school on why somebody from California would head out to Iowa to play at Drake. Best of luck on draft day and the future.

First off, the arrowheads give Q tremendous credibility. Mel Kiper Jr. only wishes he could have a Chiefs Kingdom flag. Regarding Devin: I'm glad he corrected himself when talking about his "football mind." It's not just a good football mind...it's a GREAT football mind. And his promise to "stick my face in ya" is considerably more threatening when you actually see Devin and his beard. This clip probably gets him drafted.

Devin's 40 time is the second fastest out of the 50+ Tight Ends in the draft. Devin's weight is 10th out of the top 50. Devin is 6'4 and ranks 25th. 6'5 would put him in the top six. Interestingly, the tallest Tight End is the Valley's Kilby Nigel from SIU... 6'7 and change.

His overall numbers were fantastic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyEikkgaE-Y

26 reps is very impressive! Top at the combine all positions was 44, and top 15 closed out at 28. So he was probably somewhere in the 16-20 range of all players at the combine.

I was referring to the guys at his TE position group... Josiah Deguara of Cincinnati did the most at the combine with 25. http://www.nfl.com/combine/tracker#day=thursday

Gotcha...he was number 1 for TE, but more impressive IMO is that he was top 20 overall.

Some think the combination of his performance numbers and size might make him a surprise top 10 Tight End pick. Those flawless interviews had to elevate his ranking.

Dayton’s TE was picked in R3. Was that expected?

+xDayton’s TE was picked in R3. Was that expected? Yep, Trautman was a top 5 TE and he was the fifth one drafted. One TE drafted in the second round and four in the third.

+xDayton’s TE was picked in R3. Was that expected? He was taken near the end of R3, 105th overall. There was a run on his position, which got him picked just a little bit earlier than expected. Everyone knew the Saints wanted a tight end. And they traded up to get one. Big surprise was that they didn't take the LSU player, who is Randy Moss' son.

...surprising to Louisiana people, but not to those who knew about Troutman.

Devin was not drafted, and was not signed in the first wave of free agents. San Diego's Reid Sinnett (Johnston H.S.) will get a shot at becoming Tom Brady's backup with the Buccaneers.

When I went to the Drake game at San Diego, this year, parents of some of the USD players were telling me Sinnett was signing with Brady's agent. Record number of wide receivers drafted. Too bad Devin didn't get attached in the first wave of free agents. I hope he gets an invite to a camp.

Probably not the apporpriate place to post but I saw where the bears have 10 or 11 tight ends on current team. Will be interesting to see if Saubert can survive cuts. Wishing him the best but wishing he would end up in a good situation. Falcons behind Hooper Raiders behind Waller Bears crowded

Was referring to the time Saubert was in ATL and behind a great TE; both are on new teams now
