I guess if the athletic department is going with "Kansas City" --instead of UMKC-- it would sound goofy to call them the Kansas City Kangaroos. But the mascot is a freaking kangaroo. Before being bought out by state government, the school was known as KCU, and Kangaroo was a cute little rhyme. I think their debate team came up with that one. Now it's been over 30 years since the Kings left for Sacramento, and the Chamber of Commerce talked UMKC into going D-I in an attempt to capture abandoned NBA fans and keep basketball downtown. It's been a failure so far, and most of their games are played in a little gym on campus. A new coach and a fifth-year transfer from Clemson give them hope of improvement in their last year of WAC competition. I guess they'll be wearing their "Kansas City" uniforms with the odd Skyline-Through-Window design. What would Rodgers and Hammerstein think?

The skyline uniform with the Power and Light building that houses "Yours truly WHB"?

Just going off their box score against Oklahoma State. It looks like their main scorer is that Javan White guy from Ames (who we had briefly mentioned as a grad transfer prospect before Ernst committed). It looks like he plays the 5 so that’s another tough matchup for Liam.

As for the old KCP&L building, it has been converted to apartments. Not sure it ever housed a radio station. Maybe the sports talk people did something live from "Power and Light," which is the cluster of bars across from the Sprint Center.

You knew it would take an old man, right? Well, they would think that everything's up to date in Kansas City, even though it's from Oklahoma!!

Yes, those buildings appear to be more than seven stories tall. If the new taxpayer-subsidized hotels obscure landmark buildings, will UMKC change their uniforms again? lol

UMKC is 2 - 1 vs. Drake and won 2 years in a row 2 or 3 years ago. Not push over game ... DEFENSE needs to pick up the intensity get much tougher.

Based on their adjustment ( and better success) in the 2nd half at Cincy, does anyone feel that the 'dogs will be driving the lane/attacking the basket a lot more tonight and possibly the remainder of the season, if it works out well tonight? They appeared much faster with Thomas and Yesufu heading toward to the rim, with Robbins trailing for the board.

The Bulldogs are like a big snowball rolling, learning, getting winning experience. Hit shots, good passes. Good luck song!

He’s not without his faults, but it is so fun to watch Thomas play basketball. So fast and so much hustle. Sometimes, I think his hands and legs move TOO fast!
Are you talkin to me?
