Undoubtedly the biggest non-conference home game we've had at the Knapp Center in a number of years.
Iowa comes in ranked 16th at 8-2. Their two losses were at Notre Dame (by 34) and against Florida State (by 4) in their Thanksgiving tournament.
Reserved seating is sold out. Strongly recommend buying tickets in advance if you haven't bought already.
Game is a whiteout so wear white. Athletics has 5,000 rally towels ready to go as well. The Isiserettes will perform at halftime.
Finally, remember this game like all women's evening home games is a 6:00 PM tip.

Drake had that nice tournament showing but need a win here. Lost their last 2 games to good opponents. Lose this one as well and I see the same fate as last year. The coach has done a tremendous job but just think athletically we don't quite match up w/some of these more elite teams.

On a neutral court, I don't think there is a huge difference between those ranked (maybe) 14 and 35. When Drake is more aggressive in the man-to-man, I mean women-to-women, they are far more effective on both ends of the court. They had a chance to win both road games with under two minutes remaining against top 30 teams. They are less aggressive in the zone and allow players to drive, or get an offensive rebound and a second shot. Get up in the opposing player's face and force the turnovers... get out on the fast break.
Agree, it's a must win for Drake if they plan on getting anything better than a 10 seed.

Just heard that Papa Keno's is offering a ticket voucher valid for two free tickets to this game with the purchase of any size pie tomorrow. They also have a happy hour going on. Nice to see Dogtown going in on some specials to promote the game. Hope those with a shortened workday or even the day off can make it over there.

Sources report there are less than 1,000 tickets remaining. Again, strongly recommend buying in advance. While a sell out may be a stretch, the previous attendance record of 6,456 against UNI two seasons ago is absolutely in jeopardy.

That's great! It would be amazing to get the Knapp capacity of 7,150.

Definitely meant Friday for happy hour and ticket deal, not tomorrow. I’m ready for the weekend.

After ugly start, and down 26-10, Drake has come back to lead 45-43 at half.

Drake falls 91-82. After the aforementioned ugly start, it was a single possession game back and forth for the 2nd and 3rd quarters but Iowa pulled it out in the 4th quarter.
Some observations for Drake:
-Hittner had 23 points in the first half but only 9 in the second half. Iowa figured out how to shut her down at halftime.
-Rhine had to play most of the 4th quarter with 4 fouls which greatly lowered her effectiveness.
-Second game Jonas was out (not sure why). Dean gives us more offensive production but Jonas has better ball control.
-Freshman Allie Woodridge shows great defense potential but picked up 4 quick fouls and hasn't got the college shooting down yet.
We also allowed Gustafson to get 44 points even with 4 fouls.
Attendance was 6,107 so we did not break the record.
Rough 3 game stretch but we were "in it" for all 3 games. End the non-conference matched up with what we did 2 seasons ago but with a much tougher schedule this time.
2 weeks off until we're at Bradley to open the conference season and go for 3 straight undefeated conference seasons. Bradley had a very good non-conference but did not play the caliber of teams we did.
One final note....Jennie said in all the pre-game media interviews she thinks the Drake program has only "scratched the surface" of what it can be. As long as she thinks we can get better, I think we keep her.
