So Drake went from "a mediocre island" to "a prosperous and growing institution" in 15 years...because of David Maxwell?



I definitely see the physical changes that private donors have financed. Other than that, I don't think Drake has changed that much. Am I wrong?

Aside from sports facilities, how has Drake grown?

Addition to the science building last year.

Addition to the library.

Revamping Spikes/Hubbel North/Quad Creek Cafe, whatever you want to call it

Revamping freshman dorms

Updating some of the bigger lecture halls in Aliber and the science building

Revamping lower level of Olmsted.



Outside of the dorm renovation, these were all done during the last four years.

So he deserves credit for fundraising and budgeting scheduled maintenance/renovation. That is something.

Today's news? You mean the business school accreditation stuff from the other day? I don't think that would lead to him getting the boot. If anybody gets the boot for that, it would be the business dean. Don't get how you let that happen. Mandate the professors to do research, or else they get the boot. Easy as that, right?

Would Drake go the politico route instead of an academic?

Entirely possible. Gov. Ray stepped in on an interim basis, pre-Maxwell. Vilsack taught a course or two at the law school...building connections, perhaps with this moment in mind.

Edwards, dean of the j and b schools, is retiring.

What's this "All In" announcement?

I've been trying to figure that out myself. I'm guessing it's related to fundraising.

New indoor swimming pool and jacuzzi tub. I'm "all in". Rumor it is speedo optional, and will lead to Drake adding a women's swimming and diving team.



Only thing that makes sense to me.
