I wonder which team would be better if the Valley had taken Butler instead? Evansville definitely slipped playing in a tougher conference, while their departure resulted in loss of Butlers main competition, numerous conference titles and repeated trips to the NCAA tournament.

It was confirmed in today's paper that "Butler is reportedly debating whether to leave the Horizon League for the stronger, higher profile and potentially more profitable Atlantic 10."



It also says that Chris Collins says he is not pursuing the Illinois State coaching job.



Also, it anounced the naming of Kareem Richardson as the assistant coach at Louisville.

It was announced today that, due to his ongoing health condition, Coach Rick Majerus will not be returning to coach the SLU Billikens. Sad day for basketball fans--no matter who you root for. He was/is a great coach who preferred the mid-majors over the larger schools and generally beat the larger schools.



His forced retirement also reduces the chances of SLU joining the MVC in the near future. It was rumored that his contract negotiations would include moving to the MVC.
