Belmont has been a pretty solid addition to the league. Good coaching and fun style of bball. Clear contrast of styles here. Let’s keep the momentum going!

KenPom Scouting Report for Belmont

Some observations:

• They definitely prefer to get out and run, and fairly effective doing so. They are averaging 15.4 seconds per possession. Like others have noted, they have some shooters on their team, and the are extremely efficient at that, as they are 34th in effective field goal percentage..
• They do not offensively rebound at a very high number % wise, most likely due to the speed that they are running there offense. Drake conversely is 24th in offense rebounding percentage and 17th in defensive offensive rebounding percentage, so I am expecting that we should largely dominate the boards.
• I think just like the other Nashville school we played earlier this year, the key is to control the tempo and limit turnovers (besides our shot clock violations, I've just been resigned to call those a "good" turnover because it allows us to set our defense at least).. 
• With Belmont's lackluster defense, I'm think MM with be able to get free and have quite a few 3 pt opportunities. 

   
Overall, I think this will be a strong contest between what has emerged as being the Valley favorite and another top contender. Casey Alexander & BM coaching showdown should be fun to watch as well. I don't expect Drake to run away with it and I think it'll come down to some large plays in the last couple of minutes that swing in our favor. We should be well rested and ready to come out after Christmas!

Specifically on your shot clock take, I've come to that conclusion as well and can't help but think that BMC must as well.

No it is a 2:00 PM Central Time Start, which is pretty typical for a Sunday game at the Knapp Center.

ESPN lists it at 1 PM.  Drake's website lists it at 2 PM.  Not sure which is correct.

It’s also listed as a white out on drakes website, also poorly communicated. The game time discrepancy is disappointing and hopefully they get that figured out ASAP.

Belmont’s website has the game at 1pm.

I'm guessing that Drake has the time right (2 PM), and ESPN has it wrong.

I just looked at ESPN.com and it now says 3:00 PM Eastern Time, 2:00 PM Central Time.

Belmont definitely looks like a top-tier team in the Valley. This will be an important test for us  Hope we are revved up and ready for the challenge
