Just found out that the 2025 Hoops in the Heartland is out in Evansville...never have been there.  Besides the basketball, is the city worth a visit?  Highlights?  Weighing if wanting to make the 8 hour trek there....

The tournament is no longer being called Hoops in the Heartland. It’s just the MVC Women’s Basketball Tournament.

It will be in Coralville in 2026 and back in Moline in 2027.

I've been to E for a few games. The Ford Center is a nice arena.

Thanks.  What about the city itself, neighborhood around the arena i.e. stuff to do, restaurants, lodging, etc?

I like E (the school) so I want to be delicate in my response.
I've been to the city and outskirts a few times but it seems that area saw better days in the past. The Ford Center is a quality arena and it's possible some of the local shops right next to the arena give off a good vibe (I'm sorta old school...I went to Roberts Stadium a couple of times; only been to Ford once).
I would make your decision on attending the tournament primarily around whether you want to see D.
