I am asking for some assistance/help. After graduating in 1996, and atrending almost all of the Drake women’s home games, I moved to the South. Since that time, I have either listened to the Drake games when they used to have the phone number where you would dial in and pay to listen to the game, then listened to the game through the radio (free), and now that we have the games on ESPN plus I watch them there. Since the Drake\Iowa game will be the 50 year celebration of Drake women’s basketball I have decided to fly up and watch my first game in person since graduating. Needless to say, I consider myself to be one of the diehard fans. Unfortunately, I just made the decision to go and the only tickets that are available are for two tickets that are general admission, or two tickets that are behind the Iowa bench. Due to other commitments, I will unfortunately be by myself. What I am hoping that someone can help me out with is that they an extra ticket that they are willing to sell that is not a general admission ticket. I am willing to pay extra for the ticket than what you may have paid for it. If so please let me know as it would be very much appreciated. Hopefully I have laid it on thick enough to convince someone to help me out!!! Thank you in advance.

From what I could catch, it appears Iowa did their homework and Anna Miller had her worst career game against an opponent we couldn't afford anyone to have that happen to.

So I'm a little confused as I didn't see the game.  Obviously Dinnebier was incredible and they totally bottled up Miller.  However in looking at the stats we shot 63 times and 40 of them were 3's?  We made 13 3 point baskets and 5 2 point baskets the entire game? Did we even try to score 2's?  I'm sure Iowa has more athleticism but damn that seems like a crazy  number.  

5 for 23 on 2-pointers.  Drake obviously had trouble getting to the rim.

It was also the physical nature of the game and the officiating around it. In a normal regular season non-conference game Miller would have had many more points and free throws (there was a lot of body contact on her). She had several misses under the basket that normally would be called fouls. The refs were letting a lot of things go (as is common in Big 4 games). And O'Grady was a force in the middle. 

During the Kanaskie era students in my generation joked about this being the "Black and Blue" game. At first I thought it was a play on the school colors and the Iowa men's long winning streak us. I found out later it was due to the physical nature of the game and the recovery period by both teams after playing in it. The refs treat these games more like tournament games and less like regular season games because of the in-state rivalry built into them. And sometimes that can make for ugly statistics, but is also what make them fun and memorable.

Part of bad 2 point % was Anna Miller having worst game ever. I think they said she was something like 1-16 from field and many were fairly easy shots

How is 1-16 even possible with a good player like her?

It's even worse than that....box score lists her as 1-17 :)

Besides Anna's poor performance, I was really surpised at how often D let the Hawks get down the floor quickly in transition. D usually plays fast. Don't recall a team getting down the floor for open layups that often in recent past against them. Usually the other way around when it occurs

Nobody in the country has bigs that run the floor like Iowa.  That's another thing that Jensen has been so good at over the years  besides her teaching of post moves.
