Iowa State Coach TJ Otzelberger is a excellent recruiter and if he is after Ethan Brown, would not be surprised he lands him.....  Like the videos and he would look great in a Drake uniform.... cross our fingers for Drake and Coach Mac

The fact the general public knows about the offer likely means it's not gonna be comittable. Not Mac's style from what I've heard.

I was referring to the Drake offer. I've heard if you make a BMC offer public that's the quickest way to get it rescinded due to him being tailed.

That makes sense to me, regarding how Coach Mc operates. There is too much unrevealed potential talent out there to be going head to head with established programs for high profile players. Find a Liam Robbins or Adam Emmenecker, get them out of the blue, and develop them in your system. 

... at the same time, if Coach Mc is so close to signing a player right now, what's the holdup if no other schools are in the picture? NIL money? It's taking awfully long working on this recruit. 

If you're referring to the one who has started showing up in practice pictures my guess is transcripts are incredibly slow during the summer; having worked in that office as a student there's minimal staff to get him fully signed. He's also am extraneous case as there's some additional ppwk to file.

It may also be BMC wants to announce at the Iowa Cubs event to give the collective something to get excited about. Regardless this is a good weapon to keep hidden and not let the rest of the MVC start prepping for.

Let's not get too far ahead of our selves.  Nothing to suggest that Drake has offered.  Just that he has heard from us.

I did read that incorrectly but the sentiment about making his contact public still holds. If you mention you're talking to BMC. Your chances of playing for him greatly reduce

Okay, it appears we're playing a game of hide the recruit -- so, no name of this guy who has started "showing up in practice pictures," but how tall is he? Does he look like a big? A forward? A guard? Where are these practice pictures viewable? 

Not hiding the recruit just cause, he deserves to get his day to commit. If you have Instagram and follow the players still on the roster from last year you have seen him. If the staff wanted us all knowing he'd already be announced.

Wasn't long ago people were posting how Drake doesn't get anybody from Kansas City.  

Was DeVries, in his first year, that different in his recruiting strategy?

Who cares if the next recruit is from MO?  Based on history/facts, few have been more impressive than Mac in the college game.
When DeVries came to Drake he had two players, McGlynn and Thomas.  Every recruited player in DeVries' first year, but Pilipovic, had an Iowa connection, or came from a state that was on the border of the Hawkeye state. Plus, I think Medved recruited Pilipovic.
The Region recruits, Murphy, Murphy and Wilkins, all came to Drake because of Iowa's very own Marty Richter, Waterloo,Iowa and Simpson College.
Ellingson from Wisconsin, but played at IOWA.
Sturtz, a walk-on, from IOWA  
Liam Robbins from Davenport, IOWA
Norton transferred from UAB, but was from Normal, Ill.  Probably was recruited by Creighton, but chose UAB where his dad is the women's Head Coach.

Last I checked, they have pretty good basketball in St Louis and Kansas City, MO and Kansas.  No disrespect, probably better than the state of Iowa.  Bring in a playmaking point guard and Drake and Bradley could very well be in the same sentence come March.

For 2025 a few names I’d look out for are Peyton McCollum (no way), Exavier Wilson, and Xavier Wilson .
