I am lovin it, I can see why Jeff Linder was so depressed losing these guys at Wyoming now! Future is looking brighter by the day!

I might as well be the one to question yet another Missouri recruit.

Not to mention, Daniel Abreu is from Springfield, MO which is about 20 miles away from Nixa. I don’t know anything for sure, but I’m guessing those two have played together or against each other in the past as well. This team is shaping up to have a lot of cross over, which should really help establish the team chemistry which is a staple of McCollum’s teams.

I know he didn't play a ton of minutes this season (about 9-10 minutes per game), but in reading the Wyoming board, their fans seem unhappy that he's gone.

Going to be a lot of fluctuation game-to-game for efficiency but he trended up with more minutes. T-Rank Player Stats - Customizable College Basketball Tempo Free Stats - T-Rank (barttorvik.com)

Honestly reminds me a bit of Sturtzy with his size and craftiness around the rim. Doubt he’s as good of a rebounder, but seems to have a better handle and much better outside shot though.

Coming out of high school, he had offers from Wyoming, Missouri State, Toledo, Western Michigan, Abilene Christian, Eastern Michigan and South Dakota.

+xI might as well be the one to question yet another Missouri recruit. I think we're all overreacting to this a little. It's year one (technically year one hasn't even started, but you know what I mean) with a coach who's recruited Missouri and Kansas his entire head coaching career, so it's not surprising that's where he'd focus first. I think we'll see a wider net cast in coming years but I'm not shocked that McCollum's first class is largely recruited from what I presume to be his "comfort zone".

It's not just that it's his comfort zone.......7 of these are kids who were previously recruited by our currents staff at other schools (Stirtz, Matteone, Jackson, Abreu, Stetler, Manyawu, Combs)

Posted PAT DAILEY Sports Editor [email protected] -- The spectacular manner in which Kael Combs has vaulted his game in his first go-around as a point guard this season can't help but make one wonder if that's where he could have been sooner.Colin Ruffin established himself as a very consistent, sure-handed and winning point guard for two-plus seasons for Nixa from 2019-2022. He helped the Eagles to a Class 6 state runner-up finish and was All-State his senior year. All that duly noted, point guard has brought about the best in Combs and that arguably is better than anyone else in the state.Coach Brock Blansit feels if Combs had been at point guard last season, Nixa would have been just as successful"Kael could have run the point last year and Colin could have been at shooting guard," Blansit said. "It would have been fine either way."Combs was content to be a swingman the past three seasons, while averaging 15.5 points as a junior, 13.6 as sophomore and 7.7 as a freshman. He played alongside more star-studded teammates the past two seasons than this winter.'I knew my role my freshman, sophomore and junior years and did whatever coach told me to do," he said.As a senior, Combs is averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.0 assists a game. His assists to turnover ratio is off the charts at 4-to-1 for a point guard who is also a rapid-fire playmaker. He surely has raised his stock in the eyes of college coaches, who now have every reason to project him as a point guard at the next level......

I certainly hope everything works out and in future we can get larger recruiting footprint I think that without a doubt essential. We will see how good of coach he is tho as he has a team with basically a bunch of guys that have never played D1 ball except for the couple guys who played sparingly at Wyoming We will pretty much have zero experience
