Everybody knows that the Name, Image and Likeness(NIL) has changed college sports.  It has put schools like Drake in a challenging position competing with deeper pockets schools.  Are we going to let our recent success go and fall back in the dismal past that we had for 40 years or, are we going to step up as fans and do our part to make our beloved Bulldogs a perennial power house.  Your choice.  So as you vent your frustrations on this board, think about what you've done to help the program succeed.  The fact is, we need to compete with dollars.  That's the goal of the DU Great Collective. And if anybody is, or knows a REALLY rich person or company that could help, please talk to them. Also if you work for some big company who could donate to the collective please make the request. there are a lot of companies around here who have Drake grads in high level jobs. All of our donations help, but some corporation can easily donate as much as 100 of us combined and not even feel it.

Drakey brings up a very good point.  A lot of large firms with lots of employees in DSM have a large number of Drake grads working for them.  A healthy Drake University is important for the future of those companies.  One way to keep Drake healthy is a healthy athletic department.  Nothing gets your name out there like winning athletic programs.  To keep Drake's athletic department healthy, NIL is a must.

I would say the BEST way to keep Drake healthy. I decided many years ago that a successful men's basketball program would do more to help Drake than anything else. I have seen what it has done for other schools. I have contributed to the Athletic department and men's basketball only since then. We finally got a president, coach and AD to make something happen, then this horrible NIL thing comes along. If Drake really wants the program to succeed they should make Bulldog Collective  contributions count toward DAPS points and seating preference.
