I find it extremely disappointing there was zero Drake presence at the Iowa State Fair the past 11 days.

Iowa State
Northern Iowa
DMACC
Upper Iowa University
Buena Vista
Kirkwood Community College!

All these schools had presence at the fair. They were all selling merchandise too. I know we just changed suppliers, but we have to be able to do better. We used to have an entire day at the fair, now we have nothing.

I'm not saying we have to match the Iowa Marching Band performing on the Grand Concourse. (As a band alumni I know there's no chance of that.) Iowa and Iowa State both had their trophies from the past sports season on display. Sell merchandise, give away some free ticket vouchers (they used to do that too) and connect with some fans and alumni. 

In addition to the Iowa State Fair Drake sells no merchandise at Des Moines Airport   What message does that send to parents and potential student  attendees ?  Does Drake have a full time paid  Marketing Director or is it a volunteer position ?

Although I'm sure that  Drake's Athletic Director and University President  are fully aware of Drake's lack of local marketing visibility nothing ever gets done to improve the situation
