With the extra COVID year, it's getting confusing as to who has how many years left.
Will Brodie be the only player on the 2023-24 team who will be out of eligibility after the season? (assuming he gets to play this coming season)
If so, the Bulldogs can be really, really selective on who they take.

The post on 2023-2024 roster lists Gibson as a senior. Does anyone know his status for sure?

I think Gibson is in his last year because the covid waiver was only for NCAA athletes. He redshirted that year anyway.

Just throwing this out here. I'll let someone smarter than me decide if he deserves his own thread at some point. Potential legacy recruit: 2025 6-8 F/C Jonah Hayes (Kristi Kinne's kid) 2025 F/C Jonah Hayes UA Rise Highlights - YouTubeHighlights are mostly defensive, so good shot blocker. Brother (Jaxon) played at Texas as a one and done. 1st round pick of the Pelicans and signed with the Lakers for the upcoming season. Dad is former Iowa Tight End. Played in the NFL for the Bengals.

So Tenner is filing one spot. Do they fill another spot now? Someone will probably leave in the spring for some reason, just based on history and numbers.
I think Gibson is in his last year, even with Covid.
FR 19-20 Angelina JC rFR 20-21 redshirt SO 21-22 Lee JC JR 22-23 UT Arlington SR 23-24 Drake
They had two visitors this weekend so it would make sense to be signing two guys this fall and then basically be able to do 1 out 1 in for transfers in the spring.

I think that's right, would still take Burton if he wants to and then regroup in the spring with transfers or post grads.

So, they should be done for this fall. See who (if anyone) leaves in the spring and then refill via the portal or spring signings.

We can always do what Creighton did with Doug McDermott. And have coach pay Tucker’s room and board. But right now I think we are full for next year.
I also think the preferred walk ons are at least two years away from earning a scholarship. I hope they are good enough that we consider doing that.

Do we have one scholarship left to fill in Spring? I’m just wondering what the plan is to fill Brodie’s spot next year? I don’t see Northweather being the starter and I see 6-9 Bath on the roster but not sure what his status is. Can anyone provide some info ? Thanks.

I expect that to change in the spring. As far as your question about Bath, he is a walk-on. But, Ferguson should be back next season too, and Elijah Price, a 6'9" freshman who is redshirting this season will also be available.

We’re pretty thin (literally and figuratively) inside for next season. I expect to see a departure or 2 after the season (no insider knowledge, just suspicion) and probably see us pick up a big with some size/heft through the portal.
Would love to see Bath develop over time. This staff has shown the ability to do that!

Brodie has been such a big find for us. His improvement from the day he came to campus vs now is just incredible. He's clearly playing at a 1st team all conference level. Nobody in this conference has a chance against him right now and honestly he dominated that big guy from Miami last year who blew up in the tournament. 6-10-265 and can play is a guy pretty much all high majors are looking for. Of course I'm sure coach is going to look for something like Brodie but so is everyone.

Yes we have gotten used to Brodie being there to play the center position for us the last several years. It will be hard to replace him. If Coach doesn’t come up with someone in the Spring, it may be a “by committee” situation of Nate, Phelps, Bath and Northweather, depending on the development and improvement of the latter three.

Who is Phelps? That name gives me nightmares.

He looks pretty disinterested on the bench. Maybe is good for both.
