We'll find out tonight who/when/where the Bulldogs will play.
Should be a fun night tonight for fans of Drake, Iowa and Iowa State.

Weather prevented Drake from playing at Iowa State in December. 'Dogs could be heading up to Ames to face the Cyclones in the first round.

I'll take the 5/12 matchup! Wish Iowa State defeating Texas today would have been enough to flip those seeds and get Drake to Ames but oh well. I came into the weekend not expecting us to make it, so I'll take anything. Anything beyond this point is icing on the cake.
As for Louisville: We have a common opponent in Belmont, whom the Cardinals beat by 5 early in the season. Louisville also beat the No. 1 (Notre Dame) in the ACC tournament before falling to Virginia Tech (who is a 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament).
I'm glad we get a very neutral site game. With the men making it too not sure how many Drake fans we'll have. If you're reading this and are balking at how expensive it is to get to Albany, I was in Austin last October and it's a great city. Lots to do downtown. Louisville men had a horrendous year by their standards. Not sure how many of their fans will get behind the women but maybe.

Louisville generally has very good support for the women's side. They do seem less invested this year than last in promoting themselves around sports. Or it might just be they wanted something cheaper.

Tough game. Too many missed lay ups. The refs didn’t help out either.

+xReal gut punch of a 24 hours Yep, Drake had L'ville! You can tell the announcers, and probably the refs, knew everything about the Cards. Little about the Dogs. Ladies played hard. With Drake's up tempo offense, I'll always expect turnovers. 20 is just too many. Add a dozen missed bunnies and it's difficult to beat a top 20 team. Great season! Thank you so much seniors for your incredible effort and character on and off the court, especially in the class!!!!!

I only watch a few DU WBB games a year, so I'll sound like a jerk here - is it accurate to say that in the Jennie B and now Pohlman era that Drake has a high scoring offense, but a ton of turnovers, can't rebound worth a darn, and struggle mightily with bigger teams on defense?
Feels like the last 15 years-ish have been consistently getting to the NCAA tournament but not winning.... Any first round games at all?

Feels like the last 15 years-ish have been consistently getting to the NCAA tournament but not winning.... Any first round games at all? We didn't make a single NCAA Tournament from 2008 to 2016. We've made 4 of the last 6 tournaments and yes been eliminated the first round each time. 2 of those losses were playing what was basically a true road game against a P5 team, one was an overtime loss, and tonight it came down to the end. Turnovers were a problem tonight but we generally speaking got progressively better on that front throughout the year. Tonight we struggled with rebounding more than we normally do. We're going to be down on size sure but we did better against the press than the men did. This was the toughest game we faced all year. I say tougher than Iowa because we have some familiarity there. I think we responded extremely well. We just could not execute to our fullest. I also think we got tired towards the end. Extremely proud of the team, even with the result. Even with losing Bair, SB, & Meyer I think we have the potential to make a deeper NCAA run next year and the year after. Excited for what's ahead.

Also can't remember a time this has been true: There were more Drake fans tonight then Louisville fans, and the Drake crowd was much more engaged, cheering, and louder. Love the support!

And we out rebounded them 33-28. But yes, we gave up some key offensive rebounds.

I think you will find the Dogs were one of the top defensive rebounding teams in the country. The turnovers are a real problem and drives me crazy but at least most of the turnovers are due to aggressive playing.
