+xYeah - I think Tuck did a good job working on his physical stature this offseason. Now hes got to take the next step with his agility, ability to create a shot off the ball and get more mentally tough. As others have said, we can't have him disappearing for 10-15 minute spreads. It seems to me he's somehow found another mobility gear the past four or five games.

If he has a chance to move up to the first round after another year, I'd think he'd stay. Only one freshman recruited for next year so there should be immediate help from the portal.

I think some of you are under-estimating what happens even if he goes to the G League or whatever it's called. It's not like he will be done getting better, he'll be going against way better players in practice and workouts on a daily basis. Of course he will still need to get quicker and stronger and handle the ball better but don't you think he could work on that in the pros? Now don't get me wrong, of course I'd love to see him back but he's already the player of the year, helped this team get to the tournament, ( major accomplishment at Drake) and I'd support him whatever he does next. Class act all the way around. Obviously if he stays and Brodie comes back plus Enright and Nate we're a top team in the league again next year. Go Dogs!

I don't think his father will advise him to leave unless is a first rounder. The whole reason you go early is for major money. Second round has no guarantee except that if you don't make it you'll have to pay for your own education. I think he might declare without an agent to see where he's at in relation to the competition.
Moving forward.....

Maybe we put the thread about potentially losing our best player on hiatus until after the tournament. We’ll have plenty of time to get anxious about this in the off-season.

As I understand the NBA Rules, potential early entrants have until late May to pull their names out of the draft. I support Tucker whatever he decides.
It will be interesting to see how Tucker's NBA decision and the coaching offers Coach D receives play out. Worst case scenario for Drake would be if Coach waits until late May before accepting another offer.
I can't see Coach doing that because it would leave Drake high and dry -- late on hiring a new coach, late on the transfer portal. Coach D is a standup guy and I can't see him doing that.
This is all speculation, so I'm gonna focus on the fun of making an NCAA run!

I don't disagree that the G League would help him improve but so would another year in college. He'll be the focus next year and will be consistently double teamed. He also has a coach that he can trust to focus on his development.

There's absolutely no reason for him to not declare for the draft because there's no limit on the amount of times a player can do it. I think he'll get feedback to return for one more year but someone might guarantee him a two way deal and if that happens then more power to him. Far more likely to get better playing and practicing every day with other pros if he actually has the ability to make it. Going to enjoy the next few weeks because I think we'll see some big changes after the season but the future remains bright no matter what with a supportive President and a competent AD.

Only good high-major openings as of now are Ole Miss, Notre Dame and Texas (Rodney Terry presumably will get this job). I don't see DD mentioned for the ND job and Ole Miss is a long way from Iowa (if you know what I mean). Obviously a few other high-major jobs will open up in the next few weeks. I hope we get TD and DD back for another year.

I think there are two ways at the moment that things could go: 1. Fran McCaffrey leaves Iowa, at goes to the fighting Irish, DD to Univ. of Iowa 2. Greg McDermott leaves Creighton, and goes to ND. DD to Creighton Whichever scenario plays out, Tuck and Brodie go with DD to their new home.

Now you could also argue that the situation McDermott has at Creighton is actually better than what he could get at ND. He's packing 18K a night in Omaha, Nebraska. Big East is a major conference now, getting probably 5 teams in this year. He's in the tournament pretty much every year, and he's not competing w/ND football. Also since I have absolutely zero control over any of this I'm just going to enjoy it while he's here. It's been a great ride!

Fran is not a good enough coach to go to ND.

I want Tucker to do well in the NBA. I just hope that is after one or two more years with the Bulldogs. I know nothing about what is best for his long term career and even the people that know are at least guessing in part.
Let’s make some more noise this year no matter what the future holds.

That is a very curious post from Tucker. 1. Non-seniors have a deadline of early May for putting their names in the NBA early entry portal. Non-seniors would not have any official evaluation and feedback from NBA talent evaluators in early March.
2. I cannot believe that his dad has interviewed for other coaching positions, and would do so, if at all, only after season's end.
So his use of the word "out" is a real head scratcher.
