https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6PHu3_1DkcLefty with legit range and athleticism. Lengthy and good passing lane instincts running the front of the press. Not afraid to drive it in and has a killer spin move as well.

+xLeading scorer on a team that is 25-0. 17 ppg, 5 rpg, 2 apg From Chicago, Tom Bush had an outstanding basketball career at the College of Southern Idaho. --Bush who played for the Golden Eagles from 1967-1969, was named NJCAA 1st-team All-American as well as region MVP. ***One thing I learned after doing some digging was that Bush was the most decorated of all those juco guys brought in for fall of '69 — including Jeff Halliburton.

That was probably the best juco class Maury John ever recruited -- Tom Bush, Jeff Halliburton and Bobby Jones (the national juco player of the year). Those three guys stepped right in for McCarter, Wise and Pulliam, and together with Al Williams and Gary Zeller, won the MVC outright and got to within one game of a second consecutive Final Four appearance.

Yes please. Feel like we really need a commitment from someone soon to get the ball rolling.

I did not know Bobby Jones was a juco player of the year, maybe it was in the national tournament. I do know that Bush was a first team all-America juco player. Halliburton was HM.

A friend sent me the info. Jones was actually named to the NJCAA All-America team. He was named the MVP of the championship tournament that was won by his team (Paducah, KY).

CSI is a junior college? So he would have two years of eligibility left?
I too feel that we need some kind of positive recruiting news! Seemed like we made so many offers last summer and no takers.
Here we go Bulldogs, here we go…

I agree with Knappdog. These photos are excellent. They sure bring back some great memories. That was the fiercest rebounding team I've ever seen at Drake. Al Williams averaged 13 per game and Tom Bush 10.5. Of the three tournament team during that era, this is the only one that won the Valley outright and didn't have to play a play off game to get into the Tournament.

+xThese are great, Driftless. Thanks Mr. Being. I was a Drake student at the time, started work at the DM Register in March of 1971 and except for 6 months active duty at Army bases I worked for the paper until 2004 when I took early retirement to freelance.

Hey, remember when coach John would get a bad call, he would slam the wooden seat chair, and make a great big smashing sound?
