"Bulldog Fans,Although the calendar may only say August, it will be time for Drake Bulldogs basketball before we know it. Thanks to you, our loyal fans and supporters, our Drake men's and women's basketball programs are on an upward trajectory. We are thrilled to continue our next era of Drake Basketball under the leadership of Darian DeVries and Allison Pohlman in a newly renovated Knapp Center. With this summer's enhancements to the arena's lower level and our ongoing fundraising efforts for the second phase in the summer of 2023, we believe we are creating one of the best home court advantages in the Missouri Valley Conference. Over the past four men's basketball seasons, our 55-8 record at the Knapp Center is the best in the league and our 51 total wins the last two years is the sixth most in the nation. Our women's basketball team made its eighth-straight appearance in postseason play last season, and Coach Pohlman became only the second Drake women's basketball head coach to win at least 20 games in her first season. In addition to the great plays on the court by our student-athletes, we also believe your game-day experience will be enhanced by the new lower-level features which include comfortable seats with cupholders, handrails in the aisles, and premium seating options.
This renovation has required us to re-think our overall seating and ticketing strategy for several reasons. For example, the previous Knapp Center seating chart had lower-level sections lettered from A-T and upper-level sections numbered 1-25. The renovated Knapp Center features lower-level seating in sections 101-120, with fewer seats in each lower-level row. The upper-level seating was not impacted by the first phase of the renovation, however, the sections have been adjusted to sections 201-225. Since the end of 2021-22 seasons, Drake Athletics has analyzed basketball ticketing trends within the MVC, our previous seasons' ticket sales and attendance, and ticket pricing for other entertainment options in Central Iowa. Based on this analysis, we are changing the pricing model for seats in sections 101-120. There is no price increase to season tickets in sections 201-225 this year. Please consider the information below before the Knapp Center seat selection and season-ticket renewal process begins.1. Men’s Basketball Season-Ticket Prices
- There is no longer a payment requirement for the Bulldog Seat Fund. Your only cost for season tickets is the ticket price.
- All lower level seating outside of the student section, and adjacent sections of 105 and 110, will be chairback seating.
