I won't be there.  Hoping someone will post a review later this weekend.

I won't be there.  Hoping someone will post a review later this weekend.

Drake Spring game - Seemed to be a number of injured players of which many who will contribute a number of snaps this year...with that in mind here are a few observations:

Offense seemed to put the ball in the air a bit more and had some nice plays, a long reception (40+ yards) from Ellingson (6) to Radocha (84) may have been the highlight of the day.  All the Qbs got good reps and when they have time to throw were able to connect with receivers.  Markett (11) had a number of targets as well as an end around where he should some elusiveness.  Pass protection continues to be a bit suspect, but Corwin (9) did a nice job evading the rush a few times and found a couple targets for nice gains. The running game seemed to struggle a bit but saw a few flashes from Cherwin (42), new recruit Galvan (22) scored a short TD, and Stewart (49) powered in for a TD.  Based on today's game I hope to see the Offense put the ball in air a bit more this year and continue to work on pass pro...maybe the passing game can set up the run game, not other way around.

Defense - If there was a winner on the day I would have to say D... that said it was more bend but don't break and played steady.  They forced a number of punts and even blocked one. (not sure the Punter is deep enough)  D Line seemed to do a nice job getting a nice push and closing up the running lanes, also provided a nice pass rush on may pass plays sacking the QB a couple of times (that I can remember) one of was a big hit sack on a 3rd down. They had an interception by linebacker Adamski (52) and there may have been one other one.  The DBs seemed to play well other than couple of long plays, but I'd say Pass Defense was a bit more suspect than the run game.

Sorry if I forgot a bit or missed a few things, but overall it will be interesting to see 2022 Bulldogs and who is out there come Sept 3.
