The AC position for men's basketball is no longer listed as open. The interview process is now probably taking pkace.

He was a grad assistant at Creighton last season. East coast native. Looks like he has prep school connections as well, at Montverde https://gocreighton.com/staff-directory/corey-edwards/1348

Love the connections. Let’s fill our last scholarship, add a couple more walk-on, then fill 2023!

Edwards's bio on the Creighton website.
"Corey Edwards is in his first year with the Creighton men's basketball program as a graduate assistant. The New York City native played at George Mason from 2011-15, where he earned his bachelor's degree in sports management. He returned to New York in 2017-18, where he served as an assistant coach at Christ the King High School, before handling a similar task at Montverde Academy in 2019-20. Edwards also has spent the past three summers training and developing professional athletes."

I was thinking the same on the lack of recruiting history. But I suppose a lot of that is just generic people-skills anyway, if you’re good at it.

The last 2 ac hired seems to focus on having that top prep school connection. Now that the top basketball prep schools created a division competing throughout the season, then culminating with the national high school championships, Hopefully it pays off for us. I haven’t seen Drake recruit prep schools besides Robbins.
Additionally, love the NYC area maybe DMV connections. We lost some Midwest recruits to Loyola previously and if we have playing time, go get the kid willing to relocate to Des Moines.

Well, that only took two weeks from when we all knew about it. Maybe soon, they'll announce which of the seniors are coming back for their extra season, and who they signed this spring.

Coach is talking but no new commitments this spring yet I think a lot of us have assumed that for a while now. I was hinting that it might be nice if there was some kind of official announcement.

Did we get an official announcement last year that the super seniors were coming back? I don’t recall one.
