Stien out at SIU as announced last summer. No announcement yet, maybe their preferred coach is an assistant for someone still playing. Weird. Too cheap to pay her off, no AD in place. No recruiting class, they'll be living on the transfer portal. Gorski 'retires' from Bradley. Announcement makes it seem like a surprise. Half the team transferred after last year which should have raised some questions. Retirement announcement mentioned she held the record for the best 4-year conference stint in Bradley history 39-33. Mox going to UVA.
Seems to me the rest of the valley is likely sticking around. Warren seems to be a fixture at UNI. Gillespie has done a nice turn around for the Redbirds, but probably not enough to get attention at a higher level. Loyola is leaving the MVC, though she has done a nice job there considering the flaming dumpster fire she came into. Valpo on the right track, but not much history. EU finally seeing a little daylight, but only 1 year in. In St. too new to tell.

Losing 3 players, including your starting senior forward, to the transfer portal probably not a good sign.

State will likely hire a P5 Associate Head Coach kind of like Mox was when she was hired. Team of new coach probably still playing in NCAA. Seems like they wanted to hire Molly Miller but her buyout at Grand Canyon was $1 million, which is why Oklahoma did not hire her last year when she was their choice over JB. So glad that SIU did not hire Jody Adams Burch as SIU players deserve better person as their coach. Surprised Achter leaving but they just let her contract run out and avoided a buyout. Belmont is going to be at or near top of MVC as they showed up well. We and UNI should be there as well. Probably ILS but they need to get someone to replace JuJu. Mo.State I am sure will be good especially if they can keep Franklin and Wilson and their two young post players who came out of nowhere late in season. MSU undoubtedly will hit the transfer portal hard. The transfer portal is the key for so many teams. Teams can change in a major way, for better or for worse, through the transfer portal. Not sure I like it, but it is reality now.

SIU still has not named new coach unless they did earlier today. Don't understand why as they have had plenty of time unless it is an assistant of team still playing or They have had plenty of time (months) to do all their research so that makes their non-action so far puzzling unless above is true. Part of me still fears it could be Adams although surely they would have already named her as coach if that were there intention. Koenings from Bradley in transfer portal and older sister might be a good add, albeit for just one year.

May not want to make a big hire with that tag in place, but what will be left when they get a permanent AD could be a question. Also, last AD was fired amid abuse allegations in the swimming / diving program. Don't think I'd want Adams as head coach if that were a particularly sensitive topic.

Mo St ready to introduce Beth Cunningham as the next coach. Previously HC at VCU then top assistant at Notre Dame and Duke. Looks like a really solid hire.

Kelly Bond-White named HC at SIU. She is a Chicago native, played at Illinois and just wrapped up 19 years (15 years as associate head coach) on the bench at Texas A&M. Should be a significant upgrade for the Salukis.
Stein was her coach at Illinois.

It is good to see that the assistant coaches that we are hiring are getting promoted to head coaching jobs at other places. However, we now have to replace the person that was our recruiting coordinator. Any thoughts on who we may be looking at for such a position? I saw Becca Hitner provide a lot of input from the sidelines this year to Coach Pohlman, and think that she will probably get the nod as an assistant coach one day, but think that this position will require someone with more experience and contacts than Becca may now possess. Thoughts??

+xIs one of the assistant coaches leaving? Human resources lists a assistant women's basketball coaching position. Date available on the listing is 4/12/2022. I suspect it is the posting from Karius leaving that was filled by Greenway. HR just behind in taking it down. Just a guess, though.
