We go small and we get out rebounded by a team with a tall, mobile center...and then we lose. We go tall and then the team with a tall mobile center kills us with his shooting and agility...and then we lose. Aside from not playing teams with tall agile centers, what is the best course?

I have no problem with playing small ball for 20 or so minutes per game....with the current roster..  It creates matchup problems for us defensively sometimes, but it also causes matches problems for the opponent.

If Samake hadn't gotten hurt, we'd be seeing less small ball.

I like the mixup during a game as well. It is sometimes tough to watch us struggle on rebounding when we are playing small, but that is the price. If we play aggressive defense and force turnovers we can lessen the impact of losing rebounds and still win games.

You like to look at the box score and see a rebounding advantage, but ultimately it's the final score that counts. It's just a little harder to get to the win when you’re outrebounded.

Samake’s injury and Brodie’s play for stretches so far haven’t left us with much of a choice

I would like to see us try spreading the court leaving the post vacant to produce an open area so Tank(and others) can take it to the bucket.  It would be interesting to see Nate F. have the opportunity to play in a 5 out set.  He may have skills we have not seen.  He seems to have decent athleticism but I think playing with his back to the basket negates it.  Just random thoughts.

BAN THE BALL SCREEN!!! BAN THE BALL SCREEN!! BAN THE BALL SCREEN!!

The Samake injury really hurt us. He came on strong in the 2nd half of the year last year, especially defensively. Murphy does everything for us but at 6-6 maybe 6-7 having to guard bigger guys the whole game is bound to wear him down on the offensive end. If Samake had kept improving like last year he’d probably be getting 18-20 minutes a game this year. This is a huge loss for us.
