With the new name, image, and likeness rules, here's a thread to keep track of what our guys are doing. DJ has #0 replica jerseys on sale from now through Friday. '69, DSM, Home, and Away jerseys in both adult and kid sizes. Check out the link here Urban Genius (urbangenius216.com) . Not sure if this was mentioned in another thread... over the summer Tucker hosted a basketball camp at Waukee and was able to hire some of the guys on the team to run the camp.

Bought a DJ away blue jersey just now! Already have a 1969 throwback and a white DSM City jersey, so figured I needed a blue one to round it out

That’s a pretty cool opportunity to get those jerseys.

Saw an Instagram post that Jonah Jackson and Garrett Sturtz are “guest bartenders” at Peggy’s tonight starting at 8:30pm. The ad says $2 Wells and Domestic Draws.

Okay and Ayo missed an opportunity this past season. They should have made shirts that said everything is going to be Ayo Okay!

Would’ve needed both to be contributing more off the bench

I'm still trying to figure out all the nuances of this.
So, let's say that Drake sends out a tweet or a Facebook post advertising an upcoming game....and then use the picture of a player. Is that player than entitled to some $ for use of their likeness?

Is that player than entitled to some $ for use of their likeness? I think if you use any other entity besides Drake, then yes that's how it works. Except of course it would have to be a previously agreed upon thing, it's not a passive thing like royalties.

But really, especially at the bigger levels, it's already devolved to the point where it's just pay-to-play under the guise of NIL; unsurprisingly.

Is that player than entitled to some $ for use of their likeness? I don't think so and i think the school is prohibited from paying money to players. I think everything has to come from an outside source. I would assume the school could cover the use of the players image in it's scholarship offer?

+xReally you think they go by the rules I don't think the rules were very well thought out or very specific based on what i have read and heard. I'm sure the NCAA was not envisioning cooperatives with random fans donating money to be doled out to players, but apparently the rules are so loose a number of schools have apprarently concluded it is allowed. If their interpretation of the rules is correct, they don't have any need to violate the rules. any large stae school will have thousands of donors willing to contribute to the players salaries.

Who-which outside group is starting the NIL fund or putting together opportunities for Drake Athletes? I have some NIL opportunities-ideas for Drake athletes who attend Drake from my area. If your not comfortable sharing this publicly yet you can DM me.

It's pretty clear that there is coordination between booster groups and coaching staffs to promise guys what is effectively a salary. Can't really blame anyone involved here. once you can pay guys, of course the Texas A&Ms of the world are going to have a payroll
