Feb 13 Iowa State Classic: 3:59.03 Feb 20 SDSU Indoor: 3:59.81 He is a junior who transferred last year prior to his sophomore season. Technically he would be a sophomore in outdoor track this year and a junior in indoor track and cross country because of the outdoor season being canceled last year, but with the free year in indoor track and cross country he should be a junior in all three next year. Drake Adam Fogg - Track and Field Results & Statistics - TFRRSRyan Schweizer, Notre Dame transfer and brother of potential Olympian Karissa Schweizer, also ran a 4:09.47 this weekend.

Adam qualifies for tomorrow's final!! Took third in his heat, finishing in 4:05.73. Started out in the rear, then at about the half mile, went to the outside, then made his way to the inside with about a lap and a half left, then sprinted his way to the third position. Well done. (I may not have given the most accurate run down, but it's close enough...LOL). The kid who had the best time was in the other heat. He's from Oregon and barely broke a sweat. I think everyone in that heat broke 4 minutes. The facility in Fayetteville is beautiful.

It is one of the better indoor facilities in the country hosting the Tyson Invitational each year. 😁 Adam is guaranteed All American honors by making the final. Will be 1st team with top 8 finish. He has had a great year - MVC cross country runner-up, MVC indoor 3,000 meter meet record, and two indoor miles under 4 minutes with All American honors. Hopefully he places in top 8 today.

Awesome job and time!
I remember my freshman year (I think) when Steve Scott came back to break the four minute barrier for first time at the Relays.

+xAwesome job and time! I remember my freshman year (I think) when Steve Scott came back to break the four minute barrier for first time at the Relays. Jim Ryun broke the 4 minute mile at the Relays in 1967. As a matter of fact, he then broke it again in the distance medley (which does not count as an official mile run), the following day, become the first person to run two four minute miles within a 24 hour period. That distance medley win was a world record at the time (Drake took second). I looked at the web site with the yearly results of the '67 Relays, and Ryun isn't even listed. Someone or something got screwed up. I was there and saw it myself, and I also have it in print in the '67 Quax. Something's goofy there.

Here's an article from the DM Register that answers the question. Ryun did run two sub-4 minute miles in the 1967 Relays....but both were legs in relay races.

Was I drunk? Uhhh, I mean everyone sits, everyone sees!!! I even have some great 8mm movies of Ryun running one of those miles. Plus, the great Randy Matson.

I believe Scott was the first to run a sub four mile at the 1979 Drake Relays. Alan Webb holds the current Drake Relays record of 3:51.71.
It is possible Ryun could have ran a sub 4 in either the 4xMile (now 4x1600 meter) relay or the Distance Medley. The Drake Relays did not go to metric until 1976.

It is true that Steve Scott ran first sub 4 minute mile - Ryun’s was on relays It was a year after it was supposed to happen but he was sick and promised to Do it the next year which he did. It’s great that Drake has a top level guy Can’t wait to see him with whatever they are doing with Relays

Fogg paced the pro/invite 1500 meter race today for 2 3/4 laps. It went 3:39.12 which was slower than the university division. He still looked strong and may have won if he ran the last lap.
Cloud Masibhera also won the Drake Relays triple jump and the Bulldogs recorded 16 top 8 finishes throughout the Drake Relays with 8 top 5 finishes.
The women won the unseeded 4x400 meter, running the 5th fastest time in school history. Brooke Mullins set the Steeplechase school record Thursday and Busiwa Asinga finished second in the 400 hurdles Friday.
The men finished tied for 21st in 2021 Relays Cup and the women finished tied for 20th in the 2021 Relays Cup. With a little luck Drake could of had a few more champions.
