For those who don't already know, NCAA volleyball is a fall sport.  Beach volleyball is a spring sport.  Schools such as Nebraska have women's teams for both, and often with the same rosters for both.

The NCAA says that beach volleyball is an outdoor sport that can be moved indoors (to a sand court) in case of inclement weather.  It seems a midwestern location + winter is adequate justification for playing indoors at any time.  Building a temporary indoor beach at Drake is not a problem.  Been done before, trust me.  I imagine the Fieldhouse would be the best place.

Nothing more to say.  The reason for beach volleyball is self-evident.    :)

The Sands is a nice place that could be used for outdoor games easily. That said, I wouldn't look for any schools to add any sport until after the pandemic is well over and the economic impact has been fully understood. It took a lawsuit + an unexpected football season to save women's swimming & diving at Iowa.
