Hello everyone,
I am working on a project which involves this historic game, and was hoping someone could help me with the halftime stats of this game.  There is substantial footage of the game, but it does miss a few segments, so siting and keeping stats from the film footage would not necessarily be 100% accurate.  Any help would very much be appreciated.

Drake released a DVD of the game several years ago.  Not sure if it has all the action, or if there are segments missing.  Beyond that, good luck.....unless somebody has the original scorebook, I don't know if that info is out there.

Did you try the Register? I would think that they have past issues on micro film or something. Call or e-mail the guy who covers Drake.
Did you call the Drake athletic dept? There has to be a box score, somewhere.
Did you call or e-mail the UCLA athletic dept?
Did you call or e-mail the NCAA?
Did you call or e-mail the MVC?
Did you call or e-mail the PAC-12? Was probably still the PAC -8  back then.

Also, the L.A. papers.
Perhaps trying to contact Dolph or another player from that team, or UCLA's team.

Easy to find a box score of the game.  Finding the halftime stats, which is what the OP is looking for, will probably be a lot tougher.

Not tried these methods, although I have researched everything I could online to find, again, the halftime statistics.  I am planning on contacting both universities sports information departments as soon as everyone is back in the offices following the Labor Day weekend.  I did however, want to check with the fan base of Bulldog Nation as quite often, someone has an incredible amount of info on  quite possibly the most legendary game in the school's history.  Full disclosure what I am working on is an updated version of the game.  There are two version's of the game, one which, as DUBULLDOG pointed out, the university put out which is a black & white version with the NBC audio with legendary announcers Curt Gowdy and Jim Simpson.  The other is a color version, which had narration, but was in a slower motion, almost highlight film quality type speed, and was missing a little more of the game.  Add to that the Final Four Highlight film that has been released as well, which had some different angles included and various shots of fans, the benches, and other little tidbits.as well.
What I am doing, and almost have completed, is a version which combines what hopefully is the best of all of these versions merged into one, which has been a labor of love trying to speed some video to original speed, while taking some of the television audio which on the university's released version at times sounded like the speed was increased, and Gowdy's voice almost sounded Micky Mouse like.  I also added an intro, pregame, commercials from 1969, and now am trying to do a halftime (reason for my post) and also working on a postgame as well as a few graphics such as player stats, running score, etc....  My hope is to come up with what will seem and feel like an actual televised broadcast for fans to enjoy.
So with that said, I am close to done, but still looking for a few things like halftime stats to make my task a little easier.  Thanks for any and all who have commented.

That sounds really cool.  I would definitely be interested in a copy when you are finished (assuming you are selling them).

Based on that Box score Drake put up 33 more shots than UCLA. How is that possible, and how could you lose if correct?

Because UCLA was +20 on FTAs (meaning there were ~10 possessions where they didn't need a shot) and shot 56% to Drake's 39%.

Exactly.  83 shots, compared to todays game, when teams are lucky to get 50, is crazy.  And like Drakey said, especially when UCLA only gets 50.  McCarter 10-27, Dolph 4-14, Gary Zeller 4-12.  Only Willie Wise at 5-7 had a decent shooting game.  Also had 16 rebounds.  Oh what could have been!

Definitely interested in watching when you are done. I did a bit of a recap article of the game back in 1989. Interviewed Dolph for the bulk of it and actually had a phone interview with John Wooden.

I certainly plan on making it available to fans on here.  Hopefully done in the next month or so.  It's an amazing process putting something like this together.  Obviously it was before I had a great memory of the game, so watching the game as I have put it together has shown me what a truly wonderful game it was.  UCLA was clearly not prepared for the quickness and determination Drake showed that night.
