This year won't be an easy ride to the title game by any stretch. Assuming SIU wins Thursday, they've given us trouble. For Saturday Bradley we went 1-1 against and Valpo played extremely well against us. Missouri State will be the favorite for Sunday, if we can get there maybe 3rd time is the charm.

We have to have 5 players on the floor that all contribute for any chance ! Our last 5 games showed none of that team that was whooping up on the teams they played and more a team that got down and stayed down. Someone on that team has to take charge and get everyone fired up or it will be a short weekend in Moline!

The NCAA announced Wednesday that the men's and women's basketball tournaments will be played in arenas without fans due to the coronavirus crisis.

MVC says game on as scheduled,extra precautions being taken by Tax Slayer and the whole arena will be opened up so people can spread out  if they so chose. Also area hotels taking extra measures to sanitize things.

The statement from Visit Quad Cities posted on Tournament Central is perhaps the most awful thing I have seen on this pandemic. It literally encourages things know to spread infection and being discouraged by every expert in the area. All in pursuit of the almighty dollar. Of course the QC visitors org knows more than the NCAA, NBA, Board of Regents, Grinnell College, Drake University, Harvard University and 200 other institutions of higher learning and virtually every public health expert who has opined on the subject. If they had simply remained silent, their pure greed would have been less obvious.

I just went to the MVC website.  Could not believe what I was reading! This is consistent with advice of local health authorities?  Please tell us the names of the local health authorities that are giving you the advice.

When the real scientists use the word SPIKE, they aren't speaking of the Drake mascot.
The ladies played 18 conference games.  That has always been enough for me.  Missouri State won the conference.  Please suspend/ cancel this meaningless tournament.  If not, Marty, I ask you to do what is right and pull Drake from the tournament. 

Tournament officially cancelled. MVC also suspends all sports through March 30.

Basketball season is over for Drake.

According to the MVC release "This does not apply to teams and individuals in NCAA competition." So in theory if there is a NCAA tournament and Drake gets an at-large they could go to that tournament. However, I think it is only a matter of time before the NCAA tournament is canceled.

Seniors, it would have been nice to see you advance in this year's NCAA tournament.  However, I'll be more excited to watch you excel in your lives.
