Statement win tonight. I'm sure it was nice to be home with such a great crowd on hand. We absolutely played our best game of the season tonight. The game wasn't even as close as the final score was. If we didn't "let off the gas" in Q4 we could have easily scored 120-130.

Missouri State needing overtime to beat Loyola was absolutely the shocker of the night though. We will see how their game goes against Valparaiso on Sunday. Drake is off Sunday, will play at Missouri State next Friday, 1/10. I'm much more optimistic for Drake's chances in that game after tonight.

Bulldogs sent a strong message tonight that the road to the MVC championship runs through Des Moines.

Listened to part of the game on the radio, and I gotta say, it's the worst radio broadcast I have ever heard.  Two guys having a conversation while a basketball game goes on in the background....absolutely no clue what's going on in the game based on the broadcast.

ESPN3 was well done.  Even did a nice chalk board tape package at the half. Tonight, Drake was a different team on the defense end, with the help of UNi unforced turnovers. 

Don't think SWMS played poorly.  The Loyola ladies can play!  

Come on 'Dogs, keep up the confidence and the more aggressive man-to-man defense.

Loyola has been trending upward since finally making the change to dump Swoopes (sp?). It was a flaming dumpster fire, but they have been doing things right all the way. No surprise that they are getting better. 

Bradley and Illinois State are similarly making good progress after new coaches coming into near disasters. Both have shown signs of getting back to competitive levels in the MVC. Ultimately, that is good for the conference. Evansville isn't really trying. Indiana State made a bold move, but will likely have a rough year incorporating all the new bodies into a team. 

Much better on defense,but really need to hold other teams down to around 70 points because we wont always score a hundred. If we can win at Springfield we may salvage a rough start to a preseason. Once again Sara was a force in the paint!

The defense was a little better but far from being good.  We may be catching Mo. State at a good time as lately they have not been playing nearly as well as they did earlier in the season. Having said that they are pretty good and managed to win at a place most in the MVC will not win at this year.  It will be fun Friday as both teams will be sky high for the game.  I am a little concerned about how we are going to stop Franklin from dominating inside.

I have listened to Hunter and Randi, I was unable to listen to this game.. I typically enjoy their call and style... They do a good job of getting to know the young ladies... We will agree to disagree👍
Watched the replay, We were fired up and ready to go, UNI came out flat and could not handle the ball and uncharacteristically defend... I suspect a different UNI team will show up next time around... I loved the man to man! Been begging for this for yrs.... I think we have had the talent to mix up the D... Nice to see Becca get going and good handling of the starters minutes as well.... On to Springfield

Franklin can be a force on the boards... Her ability to get to the O boards is always a concern

On the flip side I don't think Gardner can defend any of our players and Willard is very easy to drive against. Willard can score in bunches if she is hot and Calip is just  a player that can kill you by getting into the lane and getting fouled.  I don't know what to expect as far as an outcome. A few games ago I would have given us very little chance to win there but it seems Missouri State has regressed some and hopefully we are hitting our stride.  I can see us jumping on them like we did last year or I can see just the opposite or anywhere in between.  It will be fun. It may come down to the way the game is called.

How we do in our two or three games against Missouri State will basically dictate if we have any shot at an at-large NCAA bid or if we become a 1 seed for the WNIT.

RPIs are what they are.  Missouri State achieved their RPI by playing high RPI teams on the road and doing  well.  Winning on the road against Missouri State with a 3 RPI would solidify our resume and really boost our RPI. Having so many teams with decent RPIs we will not see much slippage this year due to simply playing the MVC schedule.  Having said that I think that the first and second place teams this year will have more losses than in the most recent years.  On one hand I hate that but on the other hand it is better for us for the MVC to be better.  It seems to me that there is more parity and that the "average" D! women's team can compete better with top 30 teams. Except for Evansville and probably Indiana State no other team is a sure win any more in the MVC.  There are some good young coaches in the MVC.

Where is the best place to go watch fridays game since we can't make it to springfield due to another thing going on that day earlier?

It is on ESPN+ if you have access to that. I believe the Drake Jethro's will have the away games on one of their TV's.

WBballFAN, I'm pretty sure the only way to view Friday evening's game against Missouri State, in the privacy of your home, is on ESPN+.
A majority of the men's and women's games can only be viewed on your computer on ESPN+ for $4.95 a month, and a couple are available on ESPN3.com for free.
Here are the links for each of their schedules.  All games, minus MVC tournament games, will be played by the end of February.  So, you can watch every remaining conference game, men and women, live or on replay, for a  total of $9.90.  That allows you to watch the remaining 17 women's and 16 men's, plus any other MVC games, and hundreds of other Mid-major schools.

I have espn + and 3 and the buffering was so bad the last game was unwatchable,I read on UNI site their fans saying the same thing! Very bad thing the men's games can be on mc22 and women's are not!
