A little surprised nobody from the 74? Team with Hester and Redmond and esp the receiver on that team. Was it Winslow ?

Piatkowski and Amero Ware over Pat Dunsmore?  Not buying it.

Obviously the person who wrote this had very little knowledge and just tried to come up with a few Drake names to throw in there.

Yeah, I'm not sure about guys like Phaydavong and Piatkowski from the non-scholarship era over guys like Felix Wright or Karl Kassulke

There are lots of eager beaver millennials and Gen Z folk writing sports history.  I wish they got it right more often.

Whoever wrote Dunsmore's Wikipedia page stated, "on September 13, 1980 he had 142 yards and six receptions for two touchdowns against Ball State."  Why do they think it's ok to fill in the blanks in their knowledge with random names and places?

Kassulke was a 10 year vet who made the pro bowl and played in a Super bowl.  Wright was a very solid NFL player as well.  Both those 2 clearly over the non scholarship guys.  That's just dumb.

Don't think I saw 11 year NFL vet Dennis McKnight.

That entire offensive line was very solid on the 1981 team. Not just McKnight.

Is it best college career or does it include professional career?

What about Jerry Mertens, Drake 57?  Played for the 49ers 58-1966.  One year all pro.  Career ended when he broke his back tackling Jim Taylor.  I think he spent almost a year in a full body cast.

I find it hard to believe that Drake's Duane Miller wasn't chosen for the Register's Top 100 Iowa Football Players    Miller excelled in all aspects of the game   Offense -Defense and Special Teams  He stills holds a number of Drake's Offensive -Defensive and Special Teams records    In the past 50 years how many Iowa College Players can match his all around record of excellence ?
Also - Congratulations to the 1969 Bulldogs on the 50th anniversary of their Pecan Bowl appearance   Miller  was an outstanding member of that team with 9 receptions for 193 yards

  Go Bulldogs !!
