#192 at Forbes, down one spot from last year. They go all over the place in Forbes, in this decade we were outside the top 400 but also in the top 125.

https://www.forbes.com/colleges/drake-university/?list=top-colleges/#67a8e3c1205a

I want to see how US News (which splits off regional/masters universities) handles a bunch of the top schools in that class being called Doctoral/Professional Universities. Do they decouple from Carnegie's classifications for their rankings?

Drake has moved into the "national university" class with Washington Monthly. #157 (was previously #19 in master's). Drake ranks relatively well among the schools shifted into the Doctoral/Professional Universities category.

https://washingtonmonthly.com/2019college-guide/national

Their methodology is weird (unless you really think that UIC is the best college in the Chicago area). It's never been particularly favorable to Drake – not calling it biased or unfair, it's just never been a particularly favorable system.

Drake was also recently  listed in KIPLINGER'S "Best Value Top  50 Private Universities "  ( 50th )
Drake would be much higher listed in many of these rankings if it wasn't for their very modest  Admission /Yield Percentage Ratio
Basically -  Drake's Admission rate of 69 %  is clearly not very selective and Drake Admission Yield of 20 % ( the percentage of those accepted who actually attend )  is very low

 GO BULLDOGS !!

WSJ: #208. That's down 30 from last year and like 70 from a few years ago.

This latest ranking is certainly not encouraging news   Much like a head coach of a scholarship sport -----   How many years served before a university president becomes accountable to keep his job ?

 GO BULLDOGS !!

The low admission yield is representative of the lack of upgrades done by the previous administration. Drake is in serious catch-up mode on facilities and the like compared to similar schools. Someone in admissions told me they were left about 5-7 years behind.

Drake has kept under performing Presidents in their jobs for far too long  ( Wilbur Miller - 1972- 1985 )   ( David Maxwell - 1998-2016 )
 Where is the oversight ?

  GO BULLDOGS !!
