Current Raknings: RPI 16, AP 22, Coaches 23 Fansided (5 seed in Miami) Women’s basketball bracketology: The second committee revealESPN (7 seed in Eugene) Bracketology with Charlie Creme Unlike the men - it is not a matter of which tournament for the women - only the seed. Simple math says a 4 to 6 seed depending on the ranking used, but if the committee follows guidelines Drake cannot play Notre Dame, Iowa, Iowa State, South Dakota State, South Dakota, or Rutgers in the opening rounds. This along with the conference tournament outcome could impact our seed. Thank god there are no NET rankings in women's basketball yet!

Jumped up 1 spot in AP rankings to 21.
MVC is the second to last tournament (Ivy League) held so we'll get a good chance for last minute impressions.

Still should be a NCAA at large, but the seed may have taken a hit today.

Sadly, that was the last tournament championship of the year. I can see the committee watching the MVC final game together. The worst outing of the year.

Probably an seed with lack of respect mid-majors receive. Possibly a 7 seed at best and could even be a 9 seed which would be a real joke. With this team the matchup is important. Need to avoid teams that force a lot of turnovers. Those teams give us trouble oftentimes

Only thing this game did was steal an at-large from a bubble team. I doubt the committee had contingency brackets because of this game. MSU (SWMS) is not a bad team. I would be shocked if this result led to our seed line dropping by more than one. I’m confident on a 7.

We are 19-2 since non-conference ( and that is one of the best records in the nation) and the MVC is better this year than it has been for awhile so one would like to think we get a 7 but it seems like year after year we are seeded lower than we should be. We really need to win the first game anyway but man it would be nice if we do not to have to play a 1 seed in the second round, Really would be nice to get a 6 seed and play a 3 seed in the 2nd round if we win but I do think today's loss will probably do away with that possibility. Turnovers are a real issue for this team so need to get the right match-up in the first round. This team is really talented and could win a couple of games but it usually is very physical in these games and we have to be prepared for the physicality.

When we lost to Missouri State the first time, we fell all the way down to a 10 seed. Similar to the way non-conference ended, worst showings at worst possible times.

That is why an 8 seed would be so bad and why a 6 seedf would be so much better than a 7 seed. In any event this team needs to get that first round win and go from there. We can do it and make the sweet 16 but we have to be tougher and realize that what you can do against most teams in the MVC in terms of passing can't be done against better athletes.

Drake goes to the tournament with a 20 RPI after a loss to #52 SWMS. It's one game. Dogs are deserving of a five or six. Great season so far. This team has proven they can play with, and defeat, the top teams in the country. Play hard, play smart, play each possession (offense and defense) with controlled desperation!
Best of luck!!

Final Prediction from ESPNW before announcement:
Drake drops to an 8 seed, plays 9 North Carolina in Round 1. Then play 1 UConn in round 2 on their home floor. UConn is down but not that far down.
Missouri State gets a 10 seed and plays in Iowa City.

This is a big plus for the MVC and future at large bids. Scary how much composure and confidence their underclassmen which is basically the whole team have shown
