From a different article...(Big donor), a regular on the sidelines at Augie football games, suggested to KWSN in June the Vikings start competing in the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, which includes schools from coast-to-coast, and then consider a move to scholarship competition after "five or ten years."
...maybe a safe thing to say to people who are not enthusiastic about nonscholarship football. We'll have to wait and see whether Augie uses the PFL as a stepping stone to Valley football's scholarship league. As a Midwestern school, I think they have a better chance of staying in the PFL than Mercer or Campbell. Their current stadium seats 6,500, but could easily be expanded.
