Maybe we just take the year off from fielding a team? 🤷♂️

I hadn't seen anything on Larry Austin, Jr. but I probably just missed it. Anyways, this is from the Fieldhouse transfer tracker:
"Larry Austin Jr., G, Vanderbilt: Austin tells The Fieldhouse that a handful of schools, including Drake, South Alabama, St. Louis, Central Michigan, UAB, Vermont, Ball State, Towson and Troy have all reached out since he received his release from Vanderbilt. Austin averaged 2.5 points in 11 minutes per game last season. As a graduate transfer, he will be eligible to play right away."

the transition is bordering on catastrophic so far. have to hope it doesn't do any long-term damage to the program.

I suspect that there are a lot of pieces of the puzzle that are in place but have yet to be announced for various reasons, at least I have to believe that is the case to keep my sanity. Without giving any detail, can one of the "people in the know" confirm or deny this?

I'm hearing there's a plan in place and it's working. Just slowly. Be patient boys.
Moving forward.....

Be patient. The spring signing period is a long grind. Might take 4-5 weeks for the pieces to fall in to place.
Anybody who didn't expect this attrition is probably naive. The same thing happened to Bradley 3 years ago. Evansville is also going through it right now.
Give it 'til about mid-May before you panic.

I’ve thought of Larry Austin as well. He’s from springfield originally, went to Xavier - didn’t play and transferred to Vandy. For 1 year, probably a very good take.

How many years is on DD’s deal? Build the program for longevity and patience is required, which as a fan isn’t always easy.

My issue is less about the recruits and more about the coaching staff. As soon as DD was announced I was ready for the recruits to jump ship. Unless the hold-up is that we are basing who we are hiring on who they will bring with them, I don't know if I can wrap my head around any other excuse for why it has taken two whole weeks to fill a staff. Maybe I'm overly concerned, but I would at least like the appearance of more going on especially considering that we are now in the Spring signing period.

People I trust who know much more than I do have told me things are looking very good for the spring recruiting period, but might be a few weeks until we have specific details.

I don’t know what’s worse. My to do list by tax due date or Drake’s lack of good news and the occasional negative info.

+xThings better start happening on the coaching and recruiting front soon or this could end up being an absolute disaster I agree. Either the coaches have some grand design that hasn't been announced yet or this will end up in disaster and we will end up with a team of subpar players. I definitely think the coaches should have put more effort in to retaining at least some of the Medved recruits since they were a talented group.
