Junior year highlights linkCan dribble, pass and finish with either hand. Goes left as well as he goes right. Sees the court well. Good shooter. Not overly athletic.

Doesn't blow my mind based on the video, but if Niko wanted him at Furman, you'd think it would be easier to get him to Drake than Furman. We're just way closer to MN. And I mean.... 6'2" is taller than our other guy so that's not bad.
At first I was like "Do we even need another point guard," but given that Graham and D'tae graduate after next year... guess we do.

Yeah I mean I'll take a guy who might end up being 6-3 (all the other sites im seeing say 6-3, not 6-2) and maybe 200 lbs.
Guessing he probably isn't PG material though. Which is fine.
It could end up being tough to pry him from South Dakota State however, if they truly are in on him as verbal states.

Seems like Wichita and Illinois State both went 17-1 in the MVC without a big, dominant inside player. The days of winning with inside play are long gone. And, how would Drake possibly get a dominant inside player? There's very few of them in the country. With five guards in next years's senior class, and no other guards on the roster; Drake absolutely needs to sign a couple of guards this spring. I agree that big, athletic players are what Drake most needs. But, Giacoletti had the roster so screwed up that it's essential for Drake to get some guards now.

Looks good to me. I have enough confidence in Medved from watching Furman, that unlike our previous coach, I think his player evaluation skills may be better than ours.

DU Bulldog, I thought that both Illinois State and Wichita State had very strong, powerful front lines this year. The NCAA championship tomorrow will probably be decided by which of 2 extremely powerful, talented centers has the best game. You're right, though, when you say we need more athletic players. You're also right that talented, big guys are hard to find. There's no question though that front line weakness was a huge contributor to our poor performance this season so we definitely need progress in that area.

Interior play was a huge weakness for Drake this season, on both ends of the floor. I guess I think the solution is several 6'6+ athletic players as opposed to a single dominant inside player. As you mentioned, both ISU an WSU had good front lines, but neither had what I'd call a dominant inside player. Anyway, we're getting off topic here......McGrory reminds me of a prototypical UNI guard. A guy who looks like some random dude at the YMCA, but who just kills you for 4 years.

That's ok with me. We need some wings and bigs; more than enough guards for next season already. Bring more guards in during the fall signing period.

Well, that's the problem with how f'ed up Giacoletti got things.....still need another guard in this class so that Niko doesn't have to replace all 5 guards who graduate next year in the same recruiting class.

True. Giacoletti leaves the program in much worse shape than he found it, and that was with him inheriting a team from which most of the best players left after Phelps resigned.

Either very confident or just wants to be on a power 5 team whether he plays or not. Can't imagine walking on somewhere when there are other teams that actually want you enough to give you a full ride, unless it is promised for the second year.

DT claims he had his way with Walt's Grandma. Either way, I don't care until Wibble Martry gets rid of Wibble Miss Butchly.
