If the Bulldogs win tomorrow night, they'll still be 4 games behind CU and 3 games behind WSU with 7 to play....but it will put them in real good position for 3rd place at the end of the season.

Coach Wally here just back from the hospital following operations for 1 over stimulated liver and 2 inter-twined testicles. I don't remember much from the surgeries other than the hot nurse that helped put me under. If I never came back, I would have died a happy man. Even better, I had time to study this matchup between the Wichita State Shockers and Drake Bulldogs while I was recovering. The first factor to consider is the strength of the Drake Bulldogs Mo.Valley conference play. This is definitely one of the more competitive conferences in all of D-1 basketball, and this weighs heavily in my pre-game analysis. On the other hand, the Wichita State Shockers have their work cut out for them in the Mo.Valley. When putting them together, however, I still believe the underdog Drake Bulldogs are the safer bet. They have immense talent and depth that the Wichita State Shockers can't match. Take it from me, Coach Wally: the Drake Bulldogs will help you stuff it to your bookie!

| with the middle of the conference tightly packed (just one game separating the current 3-seed from the current 8-seed, stealing a game against a front-runner would go a long way getting out of Thursday.
The ideal finish for Drake is probably to get the 3 (a long shot but definitely possible) with Missouri State and UNI falling into the 4/5....and Evansville or Illinois State (or less likely, SIU) in the 6. |

Yes, if money was being put on Drake, the line would have went to 7.5 or 7, to entice people to put more money on WSU...this could only mean that everyone expects a hangover from wednesday night... |
