| Based on people included in the Senior Day press release, the following are those who could theoretically return as 5th year players.
Asbell
Cogan
Gerken
Meehan
Morrison
Mosier
Olofsson
Platek
Rasmussen
Taylor
Walkup
I have no doubt that some of them won't be back. Obviously, there are a few people in this group who could make the difference between contending for a title and 6-5. It will be interesting to see what they decide. |

| DJOM (11/27/2009) With the exception of Asbell, how many started last season?
Asbell, of course, didn't play because of his suspension. If he comes back, he'll start at DT (replacing Kitts, who won't play a fifth year).
Then there's Platek, Morrison, Taylor, and Walkup. In addition, Mosier started some games.
That's 5 or 6 starters. Four of them have been all-PFL.
The best recruiting CC can do right now is to coax them back. |

| Lurkin Dog The ones you mentioned above plus Rassmasen will be back. Kitts, Meehan and Olofson will be greatly missed.

| Keeping any of them for another season would be great, but I think it is particularly important to retain the offensive guys. This team seems in some respects to be similar to just after the 'program review'. Immediately after that fiasco the offense really took a couple of years to rebuild (between guys that left and the year of recruiting that was substantially lost). D was tough and kept them in games, but building the offense took a couple of years.
Creighton is implementing a new offense, takes time to teach it and recruit the guys who will run it. Defense seems to gel more quickly in general and was pretty tough this year. Will the offense catch up next year? |

Superdawg is probably correct.
One comment I've heard is that guys who expect to play don't want to walk away from a year of eligibility, even if they graduate this spring. And this will outweigh any other consideration. |
