| | Recruits are always promised the chance to compete for a position. Teams recruit players that have the potential to play positions where the roster is a little thin. The emphasis here is on the "promise for a chance to compete" not "we promise you will get playing time at this position first year out". Now how the recruit and his family hear and interpret this promise, well that's another thing. |
