Your man is from Stevenson H.S. in the Chicago area. 6-2, 185 WR. |

| I was hoping that's who it was. I wanted to make sure, because he was never referred to as Nathaniel. It has always been Nate. I want to tell you something about Nate. I have been going to Stevenson games for over 20 years. They have had some great receivers, including Drake's Benny Morrison (he played offense and defense at Stevenson) and current freshman, Mike Bilton, who saw some action this year. However, Nate has been the absolute best!!! This kid is incredible. I was talking to the father of Stevenson's quarterback (a former NFL player) and he, too, can't believe a D-1 school is not after Nate. He could easily play in the MAC or Ohio Valley. If he ends up at Drake and isn't a starter as a freshman, then I'll eat my hat. He has the best hands you could ever see and can out jump anyone for the ball on an up for grabs pass. He plays forward on the b-ball team (I believe he's 6'3") and dunks without even trying. He is also a good student. He has cought passes practically upside down, on his knees and every which way. He is amazing!!!
Speaking of Stevenson, their coach retired after this season. He was the coach for 28 years. Lets hope it doesn't disrupt the Stevenson-Drake pipeline. I say that because the coach, Bill Mitz, was a Drake lineman in the 70's. He was an all-state lineman in Illinois at Niles West High School and went on to Drake. Perhaps some of you remember him. Anyways, he has always been loyal to Drake and has sent them some good players. Mitch Rasmussen, probably next year's kicker (fifth year senior), is also from Stevenson.
Lets hope we see Nate in Drake blue next year. |

| Great to see we won one tonight. Sounds like the shooting returned tonight.
Anyway, just got back from the neighborhood showdown....Buffalo Grove vs. Stevenson for the Thanksgiving Holiday Tournament Championship at Buffalo Grove High School. Nate drove the lane, went up for the stuff with a Buffalo Grove man hanging all over him. He jammed it through, then made the free throw. To top it all off, Nate won the tournament MVP!!!! He'll look great in DU Blue!! |

| from "Wisconsin Sports Network"--
“I verbally committed to Drake this past Tuesday when my recruiting coach came up here for a home visit,” Milwaukee Marquette running back Brock LaFace (5-11, 195) said Sunday.
“I had been down to Des Moines over the summer for an unofficial visit and then for my official the weekend of December 4th as well,” LaFace said. “Drake had always been at the top of my list after my visit over the summer, and I was very impressed with their stadium and facilities overall. I know it's in Iowa, but Des Moines is actually a really cool city and the campus is laid out pretty nicely.”
Perhaps the biggest draw of all for LaFace though was the Drake coaches.
“The coaching staff seemed very genuine and passionate about everything. I felt that a lot of the values that they emphasize at Drake carried over from what I've experienced at Marquette, and I can definitely see myself playing for someone like Coach (Chris) Creighton,” he explained.
LaFace chose Drake over interest from Dayton, Butler, St. Cloud State, Michigan Tech, Winona State and Hillsdale.
“It was a fairly easy decision for me,” LaFace said. “I had official visits scheduled and talk of potential offers from other schools I was considering, but Drake was able to put together an offer that covered over 50% of the expenses, and I knew that those other schools couldn't compare to the combination of both excellent academics and athletics that Drake has to offer.”
With the commitment, he joins a Drake roster that already boasts former Whitnall defensive lineman David Witkiewicz and DeForest running back Tylur Lengfeld.
A threat to score anytime he touched the football, LaFace totaled 1,936 all-purpose yards and 20 touchdowns as a senior with 1,428 yards and 17 touchdowns on the ground, 135 yards and one touchdown through the air, and 373 yards and two touchdowns on kick returns. |

| | Who is the "recruiting coach" for Milwaukee? Anyone willing to share the recruiting turf for each coach? |

| thanks. 'Probly has Milwaukee as well.
I would guess CC has Kansas City, considering the familiarity with the area he developed while at Ottawa. (?) |

| Stein, Scout.com's #13-ranked punter, will reportedly make a visit to Drake on January 23rd.
One way or another, we'll likely get a look at him. Other schools topping his list are Lehigh and Butler. |

| Stein quote on Scout.com:
"I also know they (Drake Bulldogs) have a very good special teams coach who has a track record of sending players to the NFL."

| | Current Special Teams Coordinator Fox joined the Bulldogs in 2008. Prior to joining Coach C, Fox was an offensive coordinator / offensive line coach. |

| Published comments from the South Dakota head coach:
We've been looking for guys in Kansas City. It's a very populated area and the schools at our level recruiting it are Northern Iowa and SDSU. Those are the two best programs in the Midwest, so if we're going to compete with them, we better be recruiting with them as well. It's a very good area for football - better, I think, than the Twin Cities.
I hope Drake isn't conceding too much in KC. While soccer has been aggressively recruiting here, I haven't heard much about Bulldog football in KC since Rob Ash was coach. One guy recruited from the area last year; that won't cut it. |

| The following is LD's wish list from the Kansas City area (and a bit farther southwest). As far as I know, none of them have D-I offers at this point.
JOSH PADLEY DB, Blue Springs 5-9, 170. First team Missouri Class 6 all-state as a linebacker. Fast enough to play safety at Drake.
MICHAEL LISHER C/DE, Lawrence Free State 6-3, 265. First team all-state in 6A--also, his father coaches the team (good connections for later). [Committed to Nebraska-Omaha.]
BLAKE JABLONSKI QB, Wichita Collegiate 6-2, 195. As the name suggests, Collegiate is a private college preparatory school. And he carries a 3.7 GPA. As for his football chops, how about state records of 3,884 passing yards and 48 touchdowns as a senior? Yes, Collegiate runs a spread (won the 3A championship with it this year).
BRETT LeMASTER WR, Wichita Collegiate 6-3 200. Jablonski's favorite receiver...the two of them would make a nice package. [Signed with UNI.] |

| Maybe Jack White will do a song about Drake quarterbacks. If anyone is interested in putting a list of Slavic names to music, it would be him. I think he's covered all other ethnicities.
"Grejbowski...Yagelski...Piatkowski, Zurkowski, and Jablonski..." yeah! I can dance to it.
