| OK, Mike Bradley is gone, I accept that and I am ready to move on.
However, one thing I do regret, is not posting a statistic about UCONN and their Pathetic, at best, graduation rate of men's basketball players.
I cannot believe that no one in Mike's Family of Support dug this up and used it to help him to understand that he will NOT graduate from UCONN. A team with a tradition of not graduating kids is not going to change now.
Drake Nation took the high road, and showed high character with their posts.
I don't want to deviate from that but here is the link.
See page 5 of 6.

| Gordon Gottschalk (10/14/2009) Who's Michael Bradley?
fastforward to 2011: You remember MB, he was that UCONN project who transfered after his sophmore year. The coach said he didn't fit the mold of big man he was looking for. Couldn't get the playing time as a Fr. or Soph to develop and UCONN recruited a 5 star kid out of NY who will start as a FR. Their graduation rate slumped to 25.
Can you believe Drake won the Valley this year and made it to the second round of the dance before bowing to Carolina in a nail biter, JT had 22 and 10 boards. Smith has developed into a stud point as a sophmore and the Front court is an awsome mix of juniors and sophmores that dominates the valley. Wow what a year..................
Blown out by the worst team in the valley in back to back games equals Homer is phriken Dun!

| Calhoun is a dirty drunken sumbatch. I've never liked the guy. The fact that Mike selected ... what he thinks is a "higher level of play" with Calhoun and UCONN just really shows me that he probably wasn't a good fit Drake anyway. I do wish him the best of luck though. I really think Coach Phelps genuinely cared and liked the young man. Too bad ... what a waste.

Wow!
How many times have you met Jim Calhoun?....So tell me....are you a member of the caring & supportive "Drake family" that everyone here has been so vividly describing here these past few weeks? It seems it's only a family atmosphere until the young man chooses to play elsewhere. |

| Alex, why are you on our board? and why do you care if some Drake fan thinks Calhoun is a cheater who doesn't graduate players? Nothing you say or do will change my opinion.
You have nothing to gain from being here except Drake fans thinking that all Uconn fans are assholes. Why do you try to rub it in when you were EXPECTED to land Mike. If I were you I would be wondering what shortcomings Uconn has that let a Mid-Major program get so far against you.
Mike would have been better off as a person here. We have a great atmosphere at Drake University. I wouldn't choose any school over it.
Don't kick someone when they are down.
I still wish Mike the best.

| My response was to the quoted crude personal attack on Jim Calhoun. I'm surprised you find that kind of stuff ok.
Good luck this season. |

| I hope the NCAA gives UCONN the death penalty. Here is one example of what a douchebag he is, just google the guy and you'll find tons of people who think he is a drunk, a cheat, and pretty much a big stinky chunk of crap.

I'm not going to post anymore links ... just google the guy and you'll see it all. Name one school in the your conference that has any respect for the man? I don't know what type of song and dance Jimmy laid on Bradley but I'm sure the chances are low of any it becoming real. Prolly promised MB's high school coach a job or something.

| Looking back through this thread, I hope MB does not become that guy lost in the crowd that we were all cautioning could happen. Drake definitely provides a unique environment.

| Everything will change at UCONN now.
Calhoun has been hanging by a thread with poor health and possible violations for years. Last year of a contract. Perfect time to make a change. New coaches, new plans. MB will become looked over even more, I'm afraid. UCONN cuts em loose as much as anybody. Too bad for him. All indications were he was a nice Drake-Type kid. The odds of him becoming a pharmacist are slipping. Good luck to you Mike.

The little bit I have seen of each made Woods look better. I wonder if the Bradley thing was just one of those hype frenzies that start once in awhile with certian players. Did Bradley really average less than 6 ppg this year?
