| Mc Bulldog (7/23/2010) Stupid? ... Stupid would be anyone who reads and believes your basketball drivel bullshat during the season.
I like your consistency. You know as little about baseball as you do basketball.

| Just when you think this team couldn't possibly underachieve any more than they have previously, you get this current losing streak where 17-2 was only the second worst loss.
In this current six game losing streak, the bullpen has given up 43 runs (40 earned) in 23 innings.....that's more than 7 runs per game given up by the bullpen alone. And, it's not like the starters have been a whole lot better.

| | How can any MLB team except the Cubs loose 18 to 1? There should be a 10 run mercy rule! |

Nah....I've seen the Cubs blow leads of greater than 10 runs before. Not this year, but I've seen it happen.
How can you have the third highest payroll in baseball and have such a horrible team? Two words.....Jim Hendry. And the owner has given him a vote of confidence?!?!? &^#*^*^#

| Frig'n pathetic. How about just switching the entire roster with the I Cubs? Derek Lee appears to give about 40-50% effort now. I shouldn't just out him either, there are many. Get Castro away from these overpaid pracks. I agree with DUB on this one ... clean house from top to bottom.

| | I was at the Cub-Phillies game in 1976 (?) when the Cubs were winning 13-2 and lost 26-24 (?). Mike Schmidt hit 4 home runs though! I have the game program in my old desk somewhere. I will check the details. |

That was the one I was thinking of....Cubs blew a 13-2 lead....I think the final was 18-16. They also lost to the Phillies 23-22 during that era.

| While there is a lull between the end of the season and all the hype you Cubs fans are going to generate over whether Girardi will be your next manager (this lull is otherwise known as the playoffs, which I mention only because you are so unfamiliar with them), you might want to consider the plight of Dusty Baker. In between his bookend playoff appearances with the Giants and Reds, he had to suffer through his stint with the baby bears, and all the questioning of his managerial skills it entailed. It doesn't matter who your next manager is, nothing will change until the front office does.

| The obvious can often slip by a die-hard fan. I went through many years with bad ownership over the Angels. With Moreno, I now know how important the owner is -- not the manager or GM.

Another good example would be little Danny Snyder. Would love to have Jack Kent Cooke Back from the dead.
Blown out by the worst team in the valley in back to back games equals Homer is phriken Dun!

| Mike Quade is the Cubs' new manager.
link
Until they hire a new general manager and a new team president, none of this will really matter.

| With his I-Cubs connection you really don't want to say anything negative about this, but . . .
On a positive note, La Russa is coming back for the Cards.
