| Harvard will not challenge him athletically. Bucknell, i don't know anything about. Drake would be a great mix, academics and B-ball.
Don't pass up the shot. |

| They're part of the Patriot League. They were 7-22 last year with a first year coach they hired out of Div. III. They talk about having scholar-athletes, not just athletes, similar to Drake. Out of the three, if those are his final three, Drake looks fabulous. You'll get a great education and top-notch basketball. Come on JJ, be the first -- open those flood gates!

| I would agree that Drake seems to be the perfect fit. Given his final 3 schools, it is obvious that academics is extremely important to this young man. Now, I'm not silly enough to say that Drake is as good academically as Harvard, but it's certainly an excellent academic institution, and getting better all the time. I don't know much about Bucknell, but I know all the Patriot League schools have excellent academics. So, he'd get a great education at any of the three schools. I just think that the MVC is head and shoulders above either the Ivy or Patriot Leagues when it comes to basketball. Best of both worlds.
JJ, we'd love to see you at Drake! And, you would never regret the decision. Drake is family. I graduated nearly 30 years ago, and Drake is still family to me.

| No story yet, but Scout.com lists him as a verbal to Drake. Rated a '90' by ESPN, had offers from South Carolina, Auburn, Bucknell, Harvard.

| I love these reviews. I know it says he's a SF, but I've heard he's an extremely versatile athlete with SG skills.
From ESPN:
July, 2009: Jeffers is a small forward that has range and accuracy on his three-point shot. Also impressive is his ability to get in the lane and pull up for a jump shot. This lefty will drive to the basket, get in the paint and score the ball or make the proper kick out pass. He plays with high energy, is active and is an opportunistic offensive player who looks for ways to score the ball including hitting the offensive glass for second chance points. On the defensive end, he plays smart position defense on the ball and uses his 6-6 frame to his advantage. He is an excellent student and has his passion for the game shines on the court.
May, 2009: Jeffers is a left handed skilled wing that can score in bunches. He runs the floor in transition and can knock down the open three off the catch or dribble. Jeffers has a nice release and follows through and gets into his shooting rhythm with one or two dribbles before his elevates into his jumper. Jeffers is a good ball handler that can get to the rim and score with his length and athletic ability. He does a great job of drawing fouls with his aggressive approach on the offensive side of the ball. Jeffers also has a nice inside out dribble move that he finishes with a smooth mid range pull up. On defense Jeffers is capable of defending both wing positions. Jeffers needs strength but is a wing that can manufacture points in a hurry. |

| Nice write up about JJ.
Jeremy Jeffers (Greenfield/Wilson, N.C.) also proved to be a stellar southpaw. He is a small forward with range and accuracy on his 3-point shot. Also impressive is his ability to get in the lane and pull up for a jump shot. He will drive to the basket, get in the paint and score or make the proper kick-out pass. He plays with high energy, is active and is an opportunistic offensive player who looks for ways to score, including hitting the offensive glass for second-chance points. | Those comments are pretty significant given that he was one of eight players singled out from a huge event with over a thousand players in attendance.
Don't pass up the shot. |

| WELCOME ABOARD JJ:
The board has been quiet for a few days but I want you to know that we couldn't be more excited than we are to have you as a Bulldog.
Focus has moved toward that last scholarship, but don't think for a moment that we are not PUMPED about you and the rest of your class.
Welcome aboard Jeremy. I can't until you are on campus.
Go Dogs.

| "Senior Jeremy Jeffers doubled Greenfield's advantage two minutes into the second half when he stole the ball and pushed it under the WCD keeper."
I don't have a clue what this means. But I get that he stole the ball. I trust his basketball skills are transfering to the soccer field.

I hope his soccer skills translate to the basketball court.....that would typically mean good footwork, and he can run all day.
