He does look kind of skinny in the picture....but looks like he has the kind of frame where he could bulk up quite a bit.

According to Sean Jones, the kid needs to lose a few pounds.

I love the look of this kid. Nice to see someone from North Carolina as well. Coach P's connections from his pre-ASU days are probably at work. I would love to see someone from a great basketball state like NC come to Drake so they could see how much the fans here love the greatest sport in the world.

Check with Lamont Cranston.

A good offense is the best defense....

LOL, USMC. Good one. In the words of Old Blue Eyes on "Live at the Sands, with Count Basie," "The Shadow Do."
But, in this instance, I'd have to go with Claude Raines.

Here's his photo. Might be thin, but looks like a player to me.

Jeffers has pared his list down to 7 schools............

......and Drake is one of them.

Recently, Jeffers carved up his list. Harvard, VCU, Auburn, Drake, Butler, Davidson and Bucknell are in the mix......Jeffers said he wants to visit Drake, Harvard, Bucknell, Auburn and Davidson.

ESPN Recruiting

ESPN has him at a 90. 6-6 with "range and accuracy" on his three-point shot... seems like he would be an awesome player to have.

I really hope they are recruiting Jeffers hard. Looks like the kind of player we need to have a complete team in 2 years.

Don't pass up the shot.

According to rivals, he has offers from Auburn, Bucknell, Drake, Harvard, High Point, UNC Wilmington, South Carolina, VCU, Western Carolina, William & Mary and Winthrop.

Quite a variety of schools in there. The list of schools would seem to suggest somebody who's both a very good basketball player and a very good student. If he's a great kid as well, he'd be a perfect fit at Drake. Good basketball, good competition, good academics, great kids.

As of a couple weeks ago, he still has Drake listed as a school he plans to visit.....

Jeffers said he wants to visit Drake, Harvard, Bucknell, Auburn and Davidson. VCU and Davidson are drivable for him.

Scout.com says his strengths are 3-point range and finisher, areas for improvement ball handling and defensive presence. Both of those areas are easily improved upon.

From an AAU scouting report in May:

Jeremy Jeffers (2010, 6-5 SG) - Jeremy is a good sized left handed wing player. He's a fine ball handler who can attack off the dribble. He scored a few times off the bounce, drew a foul and dished off an assist. Jeremy is fairly athletic too. He didn't shoot from the perimeter. He also would benefit by getting stronger. Jeremy showed some fine skills attacking though.

Exactly the kind of skills that would thrive in Coach P's offensive system.

That's what Drake really missed when Leonard Houston graduated....a big wing player who could both stroke the 3 and take it to the rack. I think you're right.....his skills are exactly what Drake needs right now.

JEFFERS COMPARED TO RIP AND TAYSHUAN
Looked up 1999 Kentucky roster with TayShaun Prince. He was a sveldt 6'9" 180.
By his Junior year at UCONN Rip Hamilton had bulked up to 6'6" 185!!!!

AC, as a Lakers fan I'll overlook the fact you are pushing two Pistons who torched Kobe-Shaq's run at four in a row. I've always liked Prince's style of play and you are absolutely correct in pointing out that a svelte build can work very well when combined with basketball talent. Have you seen this young man play? He sounds like a great get and I would love to see him come to Drake.

I have NOT seen him play.
He scrimmaged this weekend.
If you know one of the players ask them.
I understand JY LOVES him.
After being offered by Auburn and South Carolina, amongst many others it is apparently down to Harvard, Bucknell and DU.
Our kind of kid, and besides that rated a 90?????
The Valley doesn't get 90's very often.

Come on JJ!!!! Make it happen!!
