| I noticed that some other teams (including the Cyclones) have threads that are discussing next year's schedule. Does anyone have any insight into the games that we can expect to see next year?
Any word on any warm-weather locations in which Drake may be playing? Thanks for any help!! |

| North Dakota is reportedly playing in one of the Drake Tournaments...also we know we will play a BracketBuster away since we played one at home last year. That gives us three home games and four away.
How many non-conference games do we get?

According to this article, Drake will be playing 3 games in a tournament in Florida next season.
Drake will participate in an eight-team tournament called the Glenn Wilkes Classic that will be played in Daytona Beach, Fla. Other teams in the Nov. 19-22 event are Austin Peay, Akron, Niagara, Indiana-Purdue of Indianapolis, Central Florida, Auburn and Howard.
That's a pretty mediocre line-up. In the past, there have been four rounds of games, with the first round played on campus sites.

| | If we play Austin Peay in the tournament would we still play them again as a return trip for the BracketBuster? That would suck if we had to play them twice and waste a non-conference game. |

I'm pretty sure the Bulldogs would still have to play down there. The schedule (including that game) will be finalized long before it's determined whether DU and APSU will meet in that tourney. Plus, it wouldn't be fair to APSU to have to give up the return game in their home arena after they had to travel to Des Moines last year.

| | I wonder if we could work it out where we play Austin Peay at their place in one of the first two rounds of the tournament (if the first two rounds are played on campus sites). That would give them the return game and eliminate the possibility of playing them twice. |

Since the game in Clarksville (at APSU) is already scheduled for Nov 28, and the tournament is Nov 19-22, I guess it's a moot point.

| Here's a link from the evil Bluejay message board I found by googling men's basketball schedule. It has pretty much the same info we stated above about Drake, however, it has the other schedule confirmations by Valley teams.

| | They'll play a tournament in Daytona Beach in November and a return to Austin Peay in Clarksville. San Diego St will be here for the first year. |

| Here is the schedule thus far...
Nov. 7 vs. Upper Iowa
Nov. 14 vs. IUPUI
Nov. 17 vs. Iowa State
Nov. 20 @ Glen Wilkes Classic (Daytona Beach) vs. Georgia State
Nov. 21 @ Glen Wilkes Classic (Daytona Beach) vs. Akron
Nov. 22 @ Glen Wilkes Classic (Daytona Beach) vs. Central Florida
Nov. 28 @ Austin Peay
Dec. 4 vs. TBA (Iowa Realty)
Dec. 5 vs. TBA (Iowa Realty)
Dec. 11 vs. TBA (HY-VEE)
Dec. 12 vs. TBA (Hy-VEE)
Dec. 19 @ Iowa
Dec. 22 vs. San Diego State
There are a lot of back-to-back games which worries me. The non-conference will tell us a lot. With this schedule we should have at least 10 wins. If not, we are going to struggle in the Valley.

yeah, that's not exactly going to give us strength of schedule points. I'd agree, we need to get at least 10 wins out of that. That being said, Iowa and Iowa St. will be gunning very hard for us - those will tough games.
btw - this board is dead during the summer huh? wow. |

| The Upper Iowa game won't really count (as far as post season stuff). If we can get 10 wins out of that, excluding the Upper Iowa game, we are sitting pretty good in my book.
Question: How do we play better?

10 wins? I don't think so.
