He has to sit out a year, so would the scholarship be a problem?.......He was also a National merit scholar, so maybe he doesn't need a BB scholarship.
If he's on scholarship, he would count toward the scholarship limit even during his redshirt year. But, based on your other info, it's possible that he'll be on academic scholarship, rather than athletic scholarship. I do remember seeing him on ESPN a few years ago.
Is there confirmation of this signing somewhere on the web?
