Any updates with Drake's first spring ball under Creighton? Returners all starting? New guys stepping up? Any surprises?

Where will these backs end up on the depth chart?

Ellison
Bialas
Olofsson
Bucklin (back to tailback?)

'Anyone see them play in the spring game?

New offense and defensive schemes will be surprise. Cole looked good at QB. Gus Olofsson looked strong at J-Back. Bialais looked strong at tail. It appeared as if everyone on the team saw alot of playing time during this evening's game. Great way to build sense of team with all players. I was impressed with players' attitudes before, during and after game.

I noticed Clemson has used J-back packages. 'Sounds like Gus might get the opportunity to catch some passes...

I posted this on the PFL board but thought I would register and post them here too. Some of these photos aren't the best but hope to get the rust off by this fall. I plan on covering the San Diego-Drake game this fall for College Sporting News.

Off to a good, not great, but good start. First play was delay of game and I heard a lot of "here we go again" comments from the stands. Must have had some issues with that last year? Several good individual efforts out there, especially big hits by D. D looked like they are sharper than O did, but that was to be expected with all the new plays and such. What I did see was lots of enthusiasm from players for their squad and the entire team. At the end of game huddle, coach told to guys to visit the two that went to the hospital.

As this was my first time to see the team live, it was overall better than I expected and it gives the players a chance to know what to focus on for the next few months.

Yes. Clock management was abysmal.

That and the punt snapping that cost Drake the Davidson game must improve.

See duplicate below. This new position is ideal for Gus. Allows him to catch passes and turn upfield. Allows him to block. He LOVES to block people.
